Wedeking went on a scoring rampage in the postseason to lead the Comets to the 1A state tournament and earn a spot in the updated rankings. A big, physical 6-2 wing, he’s at his best when he’s playing downhill and getting to the rim, but he’s also armed with a strong mid-range game. He uses his physical frame to compete on the glass on both ends of the floor as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1469744" first="Seamus" last="Crahan"] (Wahlert Catholic) [97]

A long, athletic 6-4 wing who finishes above the rim in transition, Crahan thrives when he’s playing downhill and getting to the rim. He’s a good passer who sees the floor well and competes on the glass on both ends of the floor. With his combination of length and athleticism, there is some serious upside here.

[player_tooltip player_id="1462778" first="Tate" last="Van Regenmorter"] (Western Christian) [98]

The 6-4 wing was really good as a junior for the Wolfpack, averaging 10.8 points and 4.9 rebounds with impressive 57-48-72 shooting splits. He has followed that up by putting together one of the most productive springs of any player in the state with Arena Basketball Club. He can score inside and out, rebounds well on both ends, and uses his length effectively on defense.

A long and talented scorer, Gourley led the Bears at 13.3 points a game while also chipping in 5.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.5 steals. He has a strong mid-range game and finishes well around the bucket. The next area of improvement for Gourley will be improving his range, as he shot just 28.3% from behind the arc as a junior.

[player_tooltip player_id="1237274" first="Quinn" last="Walsh"] (Wahlert Catholic) [131]

Walsh didn’t get a ton of playing time for the Golden Eagles last season, but he’s an intriguing prospect because of his size and ability to shoot the ball from deep. He’s willing to take smaller defenders down onto the block and score effectively as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1469746" first="Nolan" last="Berendes"] (Wahlert Catholic) [155]

Berendes was a key contributor for Wahlert last season, starting all but one game and contributing across the board. He’s one of the more versatile defenders in the class with his length and ability to contest shots without fouling.

[player_tooltip player_id="1469748" first="Christian" last="Barney"] (Liberty) [161]

Barney moved to Iowa City/North Liberty from Cedar Falls before the start of last season and quickly became a key contributor for the Lightning. A power wing who can get to the rim and finish through contact, he was third on the Lightning in scoring and rebounding as a junior.

[player_tooltip player_id="1257206" first="Aaron" last="Trelstad"] (Pleasant Valley) [164]

A 6-3 wing, Trelstad didn’t see much playing time for the Spartans as a junior but has put together a strong spring with the Iowa Mavericks. He provides some versatility on both ends of the floor, using his length to get into passing lanes and he’s a good finisher around the bucket with a smooth jumper. He should see much more playing time as a senior for PV.
