Lost of good basketball was on display Memorial Day weekend, with the Zero Gravity Chase for the Chain. Here we look at standouts from the tournament.

Juliano Otano, Position Wing, Team Saints, Class 2024

Juliano had a strong weekend. He is a wing player, who showed his abilities to score at the rim, and also how he can defend multiple positions on defense.

Alexander Figueroa, New England Storm, Position G, Varsity division

Alex was a high volume player this weekend. He was able to score in multiple ways, and slice through the defensive pressure. He had one game with 30 points. On offense he was very efficient, and was in the right spots at the right times. He was able to play a lot of minutes in the tournament, and looked well conditioned.

Jake Steinnman, Mass Elite, Position SG, Class 2025

Jake showed his ability to score, by creating his own shot, and moving without the ball to get open. He also attacked the hard closeouts and got to the rim. Jake was constantly moving without the ball. He has a smooth shot, that he is able to get off quickly. On defense he did a good job communicating, and playing defense on the perimeter.

Lamar Janvier, Team New England, Class 2026, Position SG

Lamar helped lead his team to the tournament championship. He showed his crafty skill set, and athleticism this weekend. Lamar has a lot of upside to his game, and will continue to get bigger and stronger. Lamar has a quick first step, and he changes speeds from slow to fast well. He also showed the ability to handle the ball and finish with his off hand.

Trosky Pena, Mass Elite Class 2025, Position G,

Trosky had a standout weekend. He moved the ball well, and found the open holes in the defense, wether it was against a man or a zone. He hit mid range jumpers, and also scored at the rim. Trosky is raising his stock this spring season.
