<p>Prep Hoops Missouri released its updated Class of 2023 rankings this week. The positional breakdowns continue today with a look at the second group of top point/combo guards.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1269959" first="Trae" last="Oetting"] (Kickapoo): A 6’0" point guard who was rock solid in his first year as a starting point guard. He reads defenders well as to when to attack in the lane or pull up from 3-point range. His float game in the paint in very effective. As a junior, he averaged 1.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals a game while shooting 49 percent from the field.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070111" first="Barry" last="Thomas"] (St. Charles West): A 6’1" combo guard who became eligible at the second semester and promptly led the Warriors to a Class 4 district championship. He has excellent quickness and a nice burst to get to the basket to get buckets. He averaged 19.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.1 steals a game to lead West.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1192431" first="Max" last="Templeman"] (Carthage): A tough 5’10 point guard in the SWMO area who loves to attack the basket and get into the land of the trees. He’s physically strong and he can really finish well in the lane. He can also hit the 3-pointer to compliment his drive game.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070118" first="Brady" last="Bowers"] (Rock Bridge): A solid 6’1" combo guard in the Mid Mo area who can really ring the bell from long distance. He can run the pick and roll to create offense off the dribble and he is also very good at moving off the ball and coming off screens to hit jumpers and layups.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1440457" first="Charles" last="Nelson"] (Miller Career Academy): An excellent 6’0" combo guard with impressive offensive moves and three-level scoring ability. He can play at different tempos, yet he stays under control. He averaged 18 points a game as a junior.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1269938" first="Alex" last="Gunnels"] (North Kansas City): A 5’11” point guard who did a little of everything for a talented NKC team. He’s quick and he plays both ends of the court well. He averaged seven points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals for a 20-6 team.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1286455" first="Jared" last="Lee"] (Staley): A 6’1" point guard who played a valuable reserve role for the Falcons’ third place team in Class 6. He’s talented enough to start for most high school teams. He’s very smooth off the dribble and he can change speeds very well to get into the lane. He can hit the short jumper, the runner or he can drop it off to an open teammate for a bucket.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1071873" first="Nolan" last="Simon"] (Whitfield): A 5’11" combo guard who is really at his best when he is attacking the basket. His strong dribble penetration usually results in buckets in the lane and trips to the free throw line. He averaged nine points a game in helping the Warriors to a 21-6 season.</p>

<p>Caden Stoecklin (Maryville): The 6’0" southpaw point guard has been a stalwart in the Spoofhounds starting lineup since he was a freshman. He is strong off the dribble and can drop dimes to teammates at different angles. He is also an excellent shooter on the move. As a coach’s kid, he knows the game very well and it shows on the court.</p>
