Getting a good look at these big men in the middle. In the city Catholic school league these guys have to combine toughness, size, and athleticism to compete. This list of players checks all the boxes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045707" first="Jaylen" last="Logue"] 6”6 2023 Scanlan

Jaylen was a little raw when we first saw him. But he has quickly put it together. He is exceptional at using his body to seal a defender. He is active on the boards and in the paint. He has consistently shown a turn around jumper in the paint. Expecting good things from him moving towards the summer aau season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195557" first="Jacob" last="Hogarth"]. 6”8. 2024. Stepinac (pictured)

A highly touted player. Jacob has come off some injuries and has played behind some high level players. Now is his time to show is wealth of talent. Jacob has the size to play in the post but has the athleticism to play out on the perimeter as well. Can finish above the rim. Can knock down the 18 foot jumper. High motor. Has all the makings of being a top player in the state for his class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045683" first="Brendan" last="Armour"] 6”7. 2023 St Edmunds

Brendan has excellent hands for a big man. A soft touch around the rim. He is a monster on the boards. Really good mid range game who can also score inside off of putbacks. Really good interior defender he can alter shots without fouling.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045751" first="Kesean" last="Shillingsbury"] 6”11 2023 Christ the King

You can’t teach size and Kesean has it. He has developed nicely. Lacking in experience he quickly is picking up what his size enables him to do. A rim protector and a glass cleaner on both ends. Runs the floor really well. Gains good position inside to finish.

[player_tooltip player_id="1204256" first="Kelvin" last="Collado"] 6”6 2023 Mount St Michael

A rim protector inside. He has shown the ability to even block jump shots. A real presence on the boards. Excellent passer out of the post. Has developed a nice two dribble drive to the rim. Big and strong, tough player to defend in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id="1203176" first="Anthony" last="Graziano"]. 6”6. 2023. St Joseph by the Sea

Should be a double-double machine in the rest of his HS career. A hard worker gets on the floor for loose balls. An excellent tracker of the ball on rebounds. Really good footwork in the post. Gains position. He is hard to move out when he gets you on his back. Finishes around the rim and can shoot the mid range jumper.

Don Colon Lewis. 6”6. 2023. Xaverian

Don is a tough match up inside. Takes up space. Uses his body to gain position. Once he has you on his back your done. Runs the floor and gets to his spot. Will back you down under the basket before the defender knows it. When you first see Michael you see his size but as you watch him you see a nice skill set. An excellent passer with a tremendous work ethic. Can step out and hit the three. Can also take you to the rim off of two dribbles.
