This event fell on the second live period of the spring which permitted college coaches of all levels to be in the gym watching potential recruits taking live reps. Here are the top prospects we saw on the weekend.
Aaron Glass, Team DTermined 15u Select – Glass had multiple dominant efforts in the games we watched. The 6-foot-2 combo guard, who had a standout freshman season at Rancho Cucamonga high school, showed his three-level scoring ability, speed and quickness when attacking the basket and the mental and physical toughness to take over a game on both ends of the floor.
Ben Roseborough Ben Roseborough 6'3" | SG Bella Vista Prep | 2024 #158 Nation AZ , Team WhyNot 16u – If there’s one thing Roseborough can do it’s put the ball in the basket. The 6-foot-3 sophomore is wired to score with his perimeter jump shot being his main source of offensive potency. The physical guard is also an adept slasher and finisher in transition whose combination of strength and athleticism allows him to finish over rim protectors or through contact in the painted area.
Cavin Holden Cavin Holden 6'1" | CG Ra Long | 2023 State WA , Emerald City 17u – It seemed like every time we took in an Emerald City game, Holden hit five or more three-pointers. The 6-foot-1 guard out of RA Logan high school in Longview, Washington is an elite shooter both off the catch and off the bounce. He has quick and repeatable shooting mechanics and doesn’t need much time or space to get his shot off. Holden is great moving without the ball and using screens to set up and open shot.
Connor Scales, Cent City 17u – Scales is an intriguing long-term prospect whose best basketball is ahead of him. The long and rangy 6-foot-4 junior showed he could make plays for himself and teammates off the dribble and looked most comfortable pulling up for jumpers at the mid-range level of the floor. If Scales can add some strength to his frame, he’s a next-level prospect to track.
Dylan Benner, Los Angeles Elite Premier 17u – Benner is a skilled 6-foot-8 sophomore whose inside-out scoring ability makes him a guy Division 1 programs should be tracking. The St. Bonaventure (Ventura) high school product can knock down catch and shoot three’s in pick-and-pop action, rolls hard to the front of the rim off of screens, and uses his soft hands and fundamental footwork to finish off paint touches.
