Here are some of the top names in pole position this weekend.
R’mani Wells | Ball By Design
Wells is a versatile big man with guard properties. The mobile big man filled the lanes in transition and displayed great pace for BBD. His shiftiness and ball skills caused mismatches and “help defense” on many occasions. His free-flowing attacking resulted in; 14 points, excellent ball movement, and a dunk in the closing moments against Mac Irvin Fire.
Jaden Riley | Flight Athletics Inc
Riley is a sure-minded guard who continually sets the table for Flight Athletics. His strength and pace enabled him to get to his spots with ease. He was able to drive and kick for open threes, break presses with a tight handle and precise passing, and be able to handle pressure in the half-court. The big guard grabbed boards with the trees in the paint and made for coast to coast scoring plays and early offense.
Dayton Stephens | EG10
Stephens is a multi-faceted big man with a high motor. His activity on defense was that of a menace racking up; deflections in the passing lanes, chase-down blocks in help defense situations, and altering shots around the rim. The active forward is able to switch out to guards and extend his havoc to the perimeter. In addition, Stephens is a defensive anchor for EG10.
Brady Scholl | 5-Star
Scholl is a skilled forward who was the focal point for 5-Star’s offense. His jack of all trades playstyle was very impressive. Offensively he can pour it in on all three levels, as well as facilitate for his teammates. His stocky frame and mobility allowed him to be physical; on the boards, finishing through contact, and guarding bigs in the paint.
Maks Depalo | Full Package
Depalo is a paint presence with a nose for the ball. The rebound chasers’ wiry frame gives him the advantage on the boards. He did well extending possessions and getting easy putbacks. He impressed me with his ability to force the one-and-done while in the zone defense. Depalo was difficult to stop, the opposing team needed a body on him each and every shot attempt.
