In several games, he was cool, calm and collected while he directed his teammates and created for himself off the dribble. Yes, he let the game come to him, took what was given to him, and was a solid shooter when he decided to shoot the ball.
Calvin Bailey, 5Star 2025-DeShone, Wing, 5-10 – I grew a little worried when the first three shots I saw Bailey take were all from the same spot on the 3-point arc. But I kept watching and was glad I did. Where he possibly looked like a spot-up shooter, he flashed much more. Namely, he dared to shoot challenging shots and made them. He found his way to the basket and created open looks for his teammates but threatened to drive and hit step-back turnaround jumpers if given the chance. Bailey will be much more than a jump shooter.
Jack Junk, Rock Summit Basketball 2025, PG, 5-11 – This voracious, speedy defender and opportunistic scorer caused a lot of problems for teams. His long arms and quick hands altered several offense trips, while he saved several possessions for his own group. While on the offensive end, he split defenders and found his way to the basket in no time flat.
Khaleeb Obieke, Team Cray 2025, PG, 5-9 – It didn’t take long for me to like Obieke at the point guard position. In several matchups, he showed the patience and willingness to let plays develop before pulling the trigger on his own. Several times, he waited until the right moment to deliver a pass to his teammate, which resulted in an open shot. Even when plays broke down, he saw the best options before stepping up and scoring himself. Coaches should be excited for this young man from New York to grow more into his role, he clearly gets what point guard is all about.
Kendall Anthony, Ohio Primetime Basketball 2025, SF, 6-1 – Anthony looked like a man among boys on the freshman court. He was strong, directing traffic, being unselfish and tougher, and outhustling everyone else. Those traits helped him get more rebounds, more steals, and more points. If he keeps this attitude through three more years, he will be a great asset to any college team.
