The 2025 division today was loaded with talent and size. I spent the majority of my day watching these underclassmen duke it out to make a name for themselves in Daytona.

6’1 Trey Borchers Guard

His presence is something you notice the moment he steps on the floor. This guard is solid. Borchers boasts a solid frame for a rising sophomore.

The Minnesota native is known for his ability to shoot the 3 ball, but it was his do it all mentality that impressed me the most. This prospect boxes out, stays in front of his man on D, and chases down the loose balls. His leadership led his team to a win over a tough Florida team. Looking forward to watching this prospect’s game tomorrow.

6’3 Norbu Jenpa Guard

Jenpa plays much larger than his size, he shows an ability to be a threat from behind the arc as well as a concern in the paint and attacking off the dribble.

Several times I watched Norbu initiate contact and connect on several tough and 1 finishes at the rim. He was the Magic’s primary rebounder and paint protector as a guard.

6’0 [player_tooltip player_id="1293280" first="CHRISTOPHER" last="MAXON"] Guard

If you’re following the high school hoops scene in Florida you’ve heard of the Maxon twins and know of their ability to shoot the rock. I watched Chris knock down 6 3’s in his team’s win over Ball 4 Lyfe.

<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1419727" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/04/IMG_8286-225x300.jpg" alt="[player_tooltip player_id="1293280" first="CHRISTOPHER" last="MAXON"] | The Traveling Hoopers" width="225" height="300" />

But let’s put the shooting ability to the side for a moment. This kid is much more than a sharpshooter. He plays hard, is a beast of a competitor and wants the ball in his hands during clutch moments. Excited to watch this young prospect rise through the ranks as one of Florida’s top 2025 players.

6’0 [player_tooltip player_id="1301752" first="Christian" last="Maxon"] Guard

Sometimes in covering grassroots basketball you worry about covering a prospect too much. And Knowing other scouts are written about the same player. In most cases I avoid this, but in the case or [player_tooltip player_id="1301752" first="Christian" last="Maxon"], I believe he deserves every bit of attention he’s receiving. You can tell this kid lives in the gym and has broken the label of “just another shooter”.

Mason handles the ball well under pressure and does a great job controlling pace, and yes he shoots the ball at a very effective rate. He like his twin brother is a fierce competitor and thrives on adversity on the court. The rising sophomore has a bright future if he continues his hard work and dedication to his craft.
