Bash In The Desert Recap: Top Glass Cleaners

<p>Spring is here and that can only mean one thing. It’s Circuit Season! The Prephoops Circuit is upon us. I will be covering and providing exposure for the Hustle Region Circuit. The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop 4 brings us to Phoenix, Arizona for the Bash In the Desert. The event featured over 80 teams. The event also featured several players with the ability to clean the glass. In this article, we take a look at the top rebounders from the event. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1306031" first="Eutrevian" last="Sanders"] <em>6’3 SF Rebels New Mexico 2024</em> <em>(featured image)</em> - Sanders is one of the top undersized rebounders I’ve seen so far on the circuit. At 6’3 he does his work early, wedging himself between opponents and the basket. He’s a quick jumper who gets off the floor well with both his first and second jump. Sanders’s best rebounding skill was his ability to rebound in traffic. </p> <p><strong>Gunnar Christianson</strong> <em>6’8 C Colorado Titans 2023</em> - Christianson was good at pursuing the pumpkin. The 6’8 five-man competed and won more than his share of 50-50 rebounding opportunities. His length and determination made him one of the better in traffic rebounders I saw during the weekend. </p> <p><strong>Milton Rice</strong> <em>6’3 SF Fresno Flyers 2024</em> - RIce is an elite undersized rebounder with remarkable physical tools. He has the widest rebounding radius I have seen, using his long arms to retrieve boards seemingly out of range. He’s not a high jumper, however, he is quick and competitive. He also has some of the largest hands I’ve seen. Rice used his large and powerful mitts to seemingly snag balls from thin air. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1031563" first="Jayshawn" last="James"] <em>6’0 SG Arizona Firestorm 2023 (#124PHA 2023)</em> - James was one of the better rebounders from the backcourt position. As such, he also doubled as one of the top grab-and-go guys. The guard has good springs and was able to go in between defenders to get the board and push the ball up the floor. Many of Jame’s 18 points came off boards that he used to start the break. </p> <p><strong>Matt Green</strong> <em>6’3 PF Hoop Society 2024</em> - Green made me watch. Every time I walked by his court he seemed to be grabbing a rebound and putting the ball back in the hoop. There was nothing flashy about his boarding, Green used a workmen-like effort to carve out space down low before rising up and grabbing the ball.
