A number of these players are still playing AAU basketball to showcase themselves during the two live periods in the month of April. Here’s a look at the top wings in the state that are still available to sign.
Dezman Baker Dezman Baker 6'3" | SF Mountainside | 2022 State OR (2022 Mountainside) – Ranked #14
Over the course of his high school career, Baker has continually evolved from a frontcourt player into a prospective backcourt performer at the college level. Long and rangy at 6-foot-4, he’s continued to do dirty work inside sccoring and hitting the boards but has improved as a perimeter player who can consistently knock down the three. Defensively he can guard multiple positions and he’s improved as a ball-handler and passer. He averaged 11.7 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 58 percent from the field this past season.
Josh Jackson Josh Jackson 6'4" | SG Centerpoint | 2021 State AL (2022 Sunset) – Ranked #35
Jackson can flat-out shoot the rock, as evidenced by the fact that he’s led 6A in three-point shooting percentage the past two seasons. This past year, the 6-foot-4 guard shot 47.6 percent while averaging 10.7 points and 2.1 rebounds. Jackson has improved at moving without the basketball and putting the ball on the floor a bit to create space, and appears to be willing to redshirt his freshman year to continue building strength and muscle to compete at the college level.
Treyson Neff Treyson Neff 6'0" | CG North Medford | 2022 State OR (2022 North Medford) – Ranked #42
One of the top shooters down from the southern part of the state was Neff, who led the Southwest Conference in scoring at 18.2 points while also averaging 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.9 steals. The 6-foot-2 guard moves well without the basketball for catch-and-shoot opportunities, and hit threes at a 38.5 percent clip this past year. A good student, Neff has garnered a number of D-III roster spot offers.
Payton Meyers Payton Meyers 6'6" | CG Canby | 2022 State OR (2022 Canby) – Ranked #60
Meyers made the jump up to the 6A level with no issues, particularly on the offensive end where he ranked up over 20 points per game while also averaging 4.8 rebounds. The 6-foot-6 swingman showed the ability to score at all three levels and has the athleticism to finish plays at the rim. While he mostly played off the ball at Canby, Meyers has the ball-handling and passing ability to fill in at the point. He’s been garnering mainly NAIA and JC interest with some D-II looks.
Neil Efimov Neil Efimov 6'4" | SG Silverton | 2022 State OR (2022 Silverton) – Ranked #65
Known best for his ability to shoot from the perimeter, Efimov diversified his offensive game as a senior to become more of a threat off of the bounch. The result was some good balance that kept defenses honest and the 6-foot-5 guard ended up averaging 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.5 steals while shooting just under 44 percent from three-point range. Efimov has the frame to support more weight and strength and has the type of mindset to fit into practically any offensive scheme.
