The array of talent from across the country that makes it here for this event is top tier, and the amount of college coaches scouting kids and our PH staff evaluating kids is second to none. Here area my notes from Saturday from the 15U scene.
Elijah Reid-Scott, 5’8 PG, Quad City 2025: Quick and changes pace off the bounce really well. Has really good point guard ability and can light it up from deep. Quick trigger and can get from his dribble move into a shot with ease. Broke down some defenders as well off the dribble. He had a good run on Saturday.
Landon Bull, 6’3 F, Quad City 2025: Much like his last name, Landon Bull was a bull when I had the chance to watch. Very strong player, solid footwork, and finishes inside very efficiently. Walls up well against defenders and forces tough shots.
Jaret Sanchez, 6’4 F, SSA Elite 2025 Black: In the evening session Saturday really showed his ability to be a matchup problem for other teams. Knocks down the 3 ball off the catch at a good clip, is a solid straight line driver on closeouts, and when locked in can guard guards, wings, and inside guys. Averaged double figures in scoring on the weekend and showed the ability to really rebound it but making that a consistent element of his game will get the stock rising.
Dawson Ruder, 6’5 F, SSA Elite 2025 White (c/o 2026): Was a dominant physical post presence all day and night Saturday. Ruder is playing up a grade and is showing his physicality and high IQ matched with his skill level has him more than ready to play at this level. Could be a double double type of kid consistently moving forward.
Ben Slagley, 6’2 W/F, D1 Indiana 2025: Runs the floor, makes the right reads, crashes hard on the offensive glass and was really just a force in D1 Indiana’s win this morning. Slagley really understands the game and was getting into the painted area.
Julius Gizzi, 6’1 F, D1 Indiana 2025 (Pictured): Is a big bodied and tough player who got great position throughout the game when I was watching. Solid hands and footwork, and much like a lot of his teammates just seemed to understand the offense and where to be at on the floor to make plays.
Jamon Wilson, 5’7 PG, SSA Elite 2025 Black: A blur on the court with a consistent motor. Really sits down and guards the basketball and can show and go from help on defense. Also flies to the ball on the glass and rebounds it or taps to a rebounder pretty good. Wilson can get around traps with his speed with the ball in his hands, gets into the painted area and is a really solid kick out passer with a smooth and efficient float game.
Babatunde Durodola, 6’7 F, Canada Elite UAA: He is NEXT. Impacts the game in so many ways on both ends of the floor. Durodola blocks shots, rebounds at an extremely high level, can switch and guard, walls up, and reads the floor so well. On offense he is a super versatile prospect with a huge ceiling. As the skill level continues to develop we have ourselves a primetime player.
Brody Buchannan, G, Mid Ohio Pumas 2025: Is a crafty ball handler who was getting guys off balance and on his hip consistently throughout the ball game. Has some wiggle and swagger to his offensive game and he is a shot making/playmaking lead guard. Made some really solid reads as well off screens, in transition, and driving the ball.
