Clyburn brought defensive prowess to every game in the #PHSpringKickoff. He made it a nightmare for guards to get it up the court and was a key reason why IE Fire Elite went up early in so many game. 5’11 but with a long frame, Clyburn could get his hands on tips as well as finish strong. On Sunday, he exploded for 26 points in a half off pure hustle. I look forward to following the progress of this IE Fire Elite team because they are a special group.
Joey Foot – Rocky Mountain Fever 2026
Joey Foot is going to be a force! Already as an 8th grader, the CG can finish above the rim and was going at defenders. Foote has a quick first step that he uses to get past defenders and finish through contact. Also a football player, Foot already has a strong frame that is ready for high school. He also is not afraid to make the simple plays for his team to win. Longmont is getting a big pickup in Foot who could make an immediate impact in the fall.
Elyas Elegado – IE Fire Elite 15U
Another excellent IE Fire Elite Guard, Elegado had a burner all weekend. Great base in his shot. He could maintain balance coming off screens and still knock it down. Elegado was one of the few freshman players I saw where you knew the ball was going in as soon as it touched his hands. On defense, he rarely gambled keeping guys in front and creating a formidable press with Clyburn.
Madden Smiley – Rocky Mountain Fever 2026
Smiley showcased pro-level offensive moves that I had not seen very many 8th graders make. He had no problem scoring at all three levels against players older than him. He also had a strong handle and was pure from 3-point range both off the dribble and off the catch. In the 15U division, he looked head and shoulders above the competition. This Rocky Mountain Fever team could do big things on the PHCircuit, because they have numerous hoopers that can get buckets.
Joseph Haubert – Elevation Flyers 15U
In 8th grade, Haubert already has a strong skillset for a point guard. He was consistently able to calm the offense down, make the right play, and get all of his teammates involved. Haubert’s vision made it easy for him to cut through defenses and either dump it off to the post or finish it himself. He had multiple 15+ point games while making his entire team look good in the process. I look forward to watching his Regis Jesuit career down the road.
Mason Marshall – Prolific Elite 2025-2
Another Regis Jesuit hooper, Mason Marshall was never afraid to shoot the rock. He had a pure stroke on midrange shots both off pick and rolls and from deep. He also was able to recognize mismatches and find his posts for easy layups. On makes, Marshall gave pressure, which could turn into steals and easy finishes. Marshall has the skills to be a strong offensive weapon for Coach Shaw in the future.
