Continue ReadingThis SD Attack team features many of the top players from SD in the 2024 Class. They will play an extremely unselfish brand of basketball. The ball will touch multiple sides of the floor, and they will look to attack with ball and body movement. Expect the Attack players to understand the importance of finding the right guy at the right time within the flow of the offense. On the defensive end of the floor, this team will focus its defense from the rim on out. They will compete on every possession and grow throughout the summer to become a group that understands the importance of having 5 guys on a string fighting for stops. This group is loaded with college prospects that college scouts and basketball fans will want to see play this spring & summer.
SD Attack started their tournament schedule last weekend in Omaha and they went 1-1. They continue their schedule this weekend in Indianapolis. Read below for SD Attacks roster, comments from coach Kooima, and the SD Attack schedule.

Coach Colton Kooima Q & A
PHD: Can you comment on a couple of your players that had big high school seasons?
Coach Kooima: “ Porter Ihnen Porter Ihnen 6'5" | CG Lennox | 2024 State #318 Nation SD – 2nd Team All-State in Class A – 6’6 Lefty G/F but can play every position on the court….versatile player“
“ JT Rock JT Rock 7'1" | C Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2024 #37 Nation SD – 7’1 center, helped lead Lincoln to the State Tournament – Difference maker on both ends”
“ Jacoby Mehrman Jacoby Mehrman 6'4" | PG Harrisburg | 2024 State SD – 6’4, Started every game for Harrisburg as their starting PG – help lead them to the state tournament as well“
“Jesse VanKalsbeek of MOC-Floyd Valley in Iowa – led their team in scoring this past year as a Sophomore – Is now up to 6’3“
“ Lukas Morgan Lukas Morgan 6'7" | SF Brandon Valley | 2024 State SD – 6’6 forward – started the majority of the games this year“
PHD: Can you comment on a couple of players that are going to have a breakout AAU season?
Coach Kooima: “This group had a few changes from the previous season and excited for this group to start to gel as we get going this spring and into the summer. With some new faces, we believe any of them can step up and break out…..Porter and Jacoby are 2 who will have the ball in their hands quite a bit which will allow them to possibly break out. But it is a deep and talented group from top to bottom.”
PHD: Who are your biggest 3-point shooting threats?
Coach Kooima: “What is unique about this group is the majority of them have the ability to shoot from the perimeter….starting with 7’1, JT Rock JT Rock 7'1" | C Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2024 #37 Nation SD , who can step out and shoot. Porter, Jacoby, and Braeden have the ability to really get it going. But other guys who can stretch the floor are Lukas, Tytan, Uchan, and Jesse.”
PHD: Can you talk about a few of your best defenders?
Coach Kooima: “Starting with JT Rock JT Rock 7'1" | C Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2024 #37 Nation SD and being an enforcer inside with altering and blocking shots….will allow our perimeter defenders to get up and guard a little tighter knowing they have JT behind them to protect the rim. On the ball defense, Uchan Harberts, Tytan Tryon and Jacoby Mehrman Jacoby Mehrman 6'4" | PG Harrisburg | 2024 State SD will get up and apply ball pressure.”
