Mira Mesa High School was buzzing Saturday night as 30 of the top high school seniors across the county played in the San Diego County All-Star Game, the first countywide all-star affair since 2019.

In the end, it was Team North, led by Boston University commit, that prevailed in a competitive contest 123-114 over a South team led by Helix guard [player_tooltip player_id="971236" first="Markees" last="Williams"]
and Mission Bay guard [player_tooltip player_id="971234" first="Rami" last="Anglo"].

The game featured a number of sharpshooters, including Anglo, who stood out for their respective team. Here are six names to know:

Evan Record, 5-8 G, San Marcos

Record is headed to BYU as a student, so it was nice to see him have a strong finish to his HS career. The diminutive sharpshooter has a quick release, sprinting to open spots and running off of pin-down action to get open looks.

[player_tooltip player_id="748774" first="Vinny" last="Signorelli"], 6-1 G, Victory Christian

The San Diego Christian commit was on fire in the first half of the game. knocking down a pair of triples with a smooth, quick release. Signorelli has solid passing feel and, like Record, moves well without the basketball.

Jaden Matusalem, 5-9 G, Mt. Carmel

Coming off a season where he hit over 100 threes while shooting 47 percent from deep, Matusalem hit one three in the game, but also showed his ball handling and scoring off the bounce. He has a tight handle and changes pace well to get in the paint. Unsigned, Matusalem would be a good junior college option for teams needing a point guard with a solid perimeter stroke.

Spencer Hall, 5-11 G, Mira Mesa

Hall was the shooter of the night, winning the 3 point contest in epic fashion over Cam Marshall and chipping in 10 points to his South team’s total. A knockdown spot-up shooter, it’s Hall’s growth as with his pull-up jump shot and improved handle that make him another nice juco prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1409390" first="Martin" last="Flores"], 6-8 W, San Ysidro

The tallest member of the group, Flores is known as a slasher and scorer off the bounce, but he has a silky jump shot off the catch, which helps open up driving lanes when he attacks close outs. At 6-8, he’s got the size of a power forward and the skill set of a wing, making him one of the best unsigned prospects not just in San Diego, but in all of So-Cal.

Cam Marshall, 6-2 G, Patrick Henry

Marshall went toe-to-toe with Hall in the three-point contest, narrowly losing in a contest that took two extra shootouts to decide a winner. Marshall is a very skilled combo guard who can score it from three levels and is an underrated passer. He’s getting courted by several high level NAIA schools, a good level for him.
