Madness In The Midwest: Top GameChangers
At the conclusion of each tournament, a new recurring article will be the ’GameChangers’ series – sponsored by GameChanger. Prospects included in the GameChangers series will be prospects that really positively impacted games for their team.
Here are some top GameChangers:
Derrick Booker — SG — Pride Roc 15U
I really liked how Booker played all weekend. He embodied what a GameChanger truly is. The shooting guard is an active defender who plays an aggressive brand of defense. On offense, he did a really great job of attacking the paint and drawing fouls. Booker is a prospect that I look forward to keeping an eye on.
Zachary Kelly — SG — Wisconsin Crusaders 17U
Kelly is a smooth scorer that had a really productive weekend in Appleton at Madness In The Midwest. When his Crusaders squad needed to get a bucket, it was Kelly who typically stepped up. The shooting guard did a nice job of slashing to the rim and finding creative ways to finish in the paint. All signs point to Kelly continuing his big spring.
Marquise Walker — SG — Pride Roc 15U
Walker was one of the better scorers that I saw this past weekend. He is an athletic slasher who uses his quick first step to get past defenders and score at the cup. The shooting guard was a very tough assignment for defenders. When Walker wanted to get a bucket, the Pride Roc shooting guard normally was able to get one.
Aidan Chislom — PF — Wisconsin Academy 17U
Helping Wisconsin Academy to a productive weekend, Chislom was a big stock riser. The power forward is a 6-foot-5 prospect that used his size to find success in the paint. He has good shot-blocking ability and is a very solid rebounder. On offense, he finishes well at the rim with either hand. Chislom could continue to make a big impact for Wisconsin Academy the rest of this AAU period.
Ayden Carter Ayden Carter 6'4" | SG Fremont Ross | 2023 State OH — SG — Hopson Elite 17U
Carter was one of the best guard prospects that competed in Appleton at Madness In The Midwest. The shooting guard is super athletic and he was able to throw down some big-time dunks. He doesn’t just rely on pure athletic ability, though. Carter has elite skill. As a scorer, Carter was very impressive. He made shots from three and at the rim.
Jack Field — W — House Of Wellness All-Stars 17U
Field really impressed this past weekend. The wing prospect stands at 6-foot-5 and he uses his positional size to his advantage. He does a nice job of getting to the midrange and knocking down jumpers. He is also a very good defender who opposing players struggled to score on. Field could be a name to know going forward.
