It was quite a beginning to the Prep Hoops Circuit as we were in Louisville last weekend for the Grit Region Kickoff. There were a ton of players that made an impression on us. Who were the best? Take a look in Grit Region Kickoff: Scotty B’s Game Changers!
Class of 2023
Myles Colvin (Indy Nets Basketball 17U)
The Purdue commit had moments of brilliance throughout the weekend for his Indy Nets team. The small forward from Heritage Christian (IN) has a 6’5” frame with good strength and fluid athleticism. At times he settles for contested jumpers, but he can also really hit them creating his own shot in one on one situations. Was at his best snatching defensive rebounds and taking it right back at his opponent for scores or trips to the foul line. Saw flashes of what he can bring to the game as a passer as well.
Teagan Moore Teagan Moore 6'4" | SF Owen County | 2023 State KY (Griffin Elite 17U)
Moore is a 6’4” wing from Owen County (KY) that looked like the top prospect for Griffin Elite. Strong bodied kid that has a super clean jumper from distance. Handled in transition. Did some work on the glass as well.
London Fields (Da House 17U)
Fields led his team to an undefeated weekend as the boys from Mississippi came to play! You have to love the positional size and scoring package that this kid brings to the table. On Sunday we saw him drop an easy 25 points scoring from all three levels.
Xavier Sulaiman Xavier Sulaiman 6'3" | SG Oak Lawn | 2023 State IL (Hoops 4 Health 17U)
Sulaiman had some spectacular moments throughout the weekend for H4H. Most of them were when he was aggressive in the open floor pushing the pace getting to the rim for monster slams that were SC Top 10 worthy. Overall we liked the assertiveness he brought to the table and might have found a new home as he seemed to be more comfortable off the ball where he got to the rim over and over again while also mixing in passing and quality defense.
Simon Weisserman Simon Weisserman 6'7" | SF Lake Forest Academy | 2023 State IL (Hoops 4 Health 17U)
Weisserman was outstanding in Louisville. He did it from the outside on Saturday and inside on Sunday. Saturday the skilled combo forward was unconscious as a spot up shooting threat hitting a ton of them being one of the top scores on the day. Then Sunday he did most of his damage in the paint with nifty finishes around the hoop.
Ahmere Carson Ahmere Carson 6'2" | PG Anderson | 2023 State IN (EG10 17U)
Carson went for 45 points in their Sunday morning game against D1 Indiana. Stocky left handed scoring guard that drained six from distance in this game. Didn’t get much elevation on his shot, but they went in. Not the most explosive athlete rather he uses his crafty ball handling and strength at the rim to finish through contact. Tough kid originally from Chicago now playing his ball in Indiana.
Kamari Jones Kamari Jones 6'4" | SG Lawrence Centra (IN) / Hilcrest Prep (AZ) | 2023 IN (D1 Indiana 17U)
Prototype two guard with his length, frame, and athleticism. He can really light it up from distance as well. Jones was a big time shot maker from three in their game against EG10 connecting on four of them along with several nice one on one moves for buckets.
Class of 2024

IN
(Indy Nets Basketball 16U)
The 6’4” wing opened our eyes in a major way with his play in Louisville. Projectable kid that has a smooth looking jump shot both pulling up and off the catch. Slick handles that can score in the lane although he did struggle a bit against length at the rim on Sunday. Liked what he showed defensively being able to defend multiple positions. D1 talent!
Ace Buckner (Team Buckner 16U)
Buckner is a high IQ wing with a ton of physical tools to work with. Moves well without the ball to get open. Clean looking three point shot hitting a handful in the game we caught. Easy burst with the ball in his hands off the dribble and has the bounce to convert at the cup.
Class of 2025
Dominique Murphy (D1 Indiana 16U)
Murphy is an intriguing upside play in the 2025 class. He is playing up at the 16U level and while his game is still emerging there is no denying the potential. Long and lanky four that rim runs, dive threat, and can handle it from mid-post. Even flashed on Sunday hitting a three. Like the mobility he presents as a defender and rebounder.
