A quick breakdown of a few different Oklahoma guards that shined with one of the most important traits in modern basketball; shooting!

Camden Hyman, 5’10 2024 Guard, Oklahoma Primetime

One of the fun aspects of watching the development that takes place in AAU basketball is players getting the opportunity to take on bigger roles and watch their games grow. As a sophomore he was an off the bench bomber for a young team that was just a game away from state. With Primetime, he’s getting opportunity to expand that game as he scored 25 points in an opening win on Saturday. There were three made shots from beyond the arc but he had a more varied scoring package overall. Still, his ability to stretch the floor will always be a large factor in his game and he knocked in 12 points off his great shooting in a Saturday afternoon victory. Choctaw has a lot of exciting young talent on their roster but if this tournament was any indication Hyman will be firmly in the mix as one of their top contributors next year.

Jude Hill, 6’2 2024 Guard, Oklahoma Takeover

Hill followed up his Saturday morning 6 three pointer performance with tough shot making in a highly contested game against a good Mid Mo Elite squad. Playing on a talented Destiny Christian team, Hill was a primary a spot up weapon when watched in January. While he’s still automatic as a catch and shoot guy, Hill is now getting the opportunity to shoot more of the dribble and he’s retaining the same lethal accuracy from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295667" first="Landin" last="Fitzgerald"], 5’8 2024 Guard, RSE Basketball White

In a Sunday afternoon victory to close out the tournament, Fitzgerald made the most of his open looks and routinely buried three pointers in a nearly 20 point victory for his team. He also showed some good ball handling ability as well. A strong AAU season with RSE Basketball could help propel the smaller guard into playing time next winter for the defending Class 6A champions, Edmond North.

Jalen Wallace, 6’0 2024 Guard, Oklahoma Runners

The runners got off to a quick start in a Sunday morning victory over a Kansas City team. It was Wallace’s hot shooting from beyond the arc that got them rolling. After shooting opened the floor for the small town standout from Carnegie, he got active off the dribble and earning trips to the line on his way to 15 points.
