Orlando Morris
Orlando Morris 6'0" | PG | 2026
NY

Our first look at the class of 2026 on Long Island. Some of these players already played their first season of varsity as eigth graders. Others are expected to make an impact in their rookie season.

Dylan Mingo. 6”3. 2026. Farmingdale

A nice growth spurt has also elevated his game. A slasher to the rim. Very athletic quick player. Scores with good body control for a young player. Creates contact and draws fouls. Was on varsity this past season. Has improved with his perimeter shooting. Averaged 18 ppg as an eight grader.

Skylar Ellis 5”7 2026 Half Hollow Hills East

Has been on the JV since the 7th grade. He will be on varsity as a freshman this coming season and should get major minutes. He is a flat out scorer. Scores in a variety of ways. Can drill the three or get into the lane. For a young player he is a good on the ball defender. Has a slender frame but will get stronger as he gets older, to cope with the physicality of varsity basketball.

Justin Govan 5”10 2026 John Glen

A slasher to the rim. Excellent in transition creating for himself or others. He creates contact and also his able to separate to score. Has an excellent handle. Good court vision in getting the ball in the right spot to teammates. Active on the defensive end as well. Has the athleticism to compete on the varsity level. Working on improving his range.

Orlando Morris. 5”7. 2026. Uniondale

Extremely fast. Puts pressure on the defense. Outstanding passer of the ball. Can get into the lane. As he matures, his body will get stronger helping him to finish off the bounce, and also improve his range.

Judah Bontemps. 5”7. 2026. Uniondale

Just like his running mate (above) for the next 4 years Judah is also very fast and elusive with the ball. Keeps pressure on the defense. Always in the attack mode. This is a very high ceiling guard combination to watch. Working on improving his perimeter shooting has he continues to develop.

Jason Mascia 5”10 2026. John Glen

Coach feels he is the best shooter in the program. Has deep range. His shot is very smooth coming out of his hand. Excellent rotation and a very easy repeatable motion. High basketball IQ. Has a great work ethic, wants to always get better. Working on improving his defense.

C J Mascia 6”0 2026. John Glen

The twin brother of Jason (above). CJ is a very athletic player. He is an outstanding rebounder. Not afraid of mixing it up and getting loose balls. Boxes out well and rebounds on both ends. Working on improving his perimeter shooting.

L J Merchant 5”3 2027 Half Hollow Hills East

Going into the eight grade next season but the reports on him get him in our crystal ball. His vision and IQ is beyond his age. Excellent ball handler even with his size he is hard to knock off the ball because of his sheer toughness. Confident and poised for his age. Working on improving his overall perimeter shooting.
