Alex’s prospect notes from the TC Senior Expo (Part 2)
In this article:
Tonight let’s resume the second half of my player notes from the inaugural Twin Cities Senior Expo, a no-cost event for unsigned seniors from the city to play and connect with college coaches.
Jaedyn Patterson Jaedyn Patterson 6'3" | SG Richfield | 2022 State MN , Richfield — I actually didn’t know much about Patterson before researching him prior to the expo. He jumped out on film as someone who has a real nose for the hoop, and that was confirmed at the event. Watch his highlights from Fresh Coast and see how he attacks the rim. Jaedyn’s 6-3/6-4 and has an interest in art academically.
Jamari Walker Jamari Walker 6'5" | PF Menominee | 2022 State MN , Park Cottage Grove — Jamari was a standout at the expo. He was dunking all over the place and kept a high motor all night, catching the eye of every coach in the building. He told me that he was focusing on junior colleges, and since the expo he’s heard from D1 jucos in the midwest as well as south, east and west coasts.
Karon Abdullah Karon Abdullah 5'11" Patrick Henry | 2022 MN , MPLS Henry — Karon had one of the dunks of the event when he caught an inbound pass and brought it behind his head before dunking. Schools are definitely noticing his athleticism and finishing at the hoop, and he’s currently deciding between D2 and D3 options.
Keyon Broussard Keyon Broussard 6'4" | SG Roseville | 2022 State MN , Roseville — Keyon is a long, rangy athlete who is somewhat like Patterson in that he’s very comfortable running the floor and finishing at the rim. He was a productive high school player and has the grades to go either juco or four-year right away.
Liban Tushar Liban Tushar 6'0" | SG Minneapolis Edison | 2022 State MN , Edison — Liban shoots the 3 ball very well. He works really hard to create opportunities on the perimeter, running his defender off screens and around like Curry or Rip Hamilton. He isn’t going to dunk on a defense, but he just produces. He’s looking for any opportunity in college and will be a first-generation college student.
MJ Galimah MJ Galimah 6'2" | SG Coon Rapids | 2022 State MN , Coon Rapids — MJ was one of the best athletes at this entire event. Check out his Fresh Coast video to watch him flying around blocking balls off the glass and knocking down threes as well. There’s no doubt he’s a top-level athlete with a ton of potential.
Muja Burton Muja Burton 6'4" | SF Columbia Heights | 2022 State MN , Columbia Heights — You knew Muja was going to come in and be one of the best in this event. He’s a battle-tested leader who helped lead CH to an undefeated regular season and we’ve known since his junior high days playing for Roosevelt. Muja competed, shot it well, and stayed afterwards to network with multiple coaches. It sounds like a commitment could be coming soon.
Obinna Izuora Obinna Izuora 6'1" | PG Irondale | 2022 MN , Irondale — Obinna, or “OB,” was a great surprise for me as I had never seen him play. He’s a strong 6-2 wing with IQ and a smooth quality to his game. He is disciplined and doesn’t get rattled under pressure. A 3.2 GPA gives him plenty of options for college admissions.
Sebastian Loder Sebastian Loder 6'3" | SF Orono | 2022 State MN , Orono — I thought Sebastian played great at the expo. He’s a 6-2 wing who averaged about 15 PPG this winter, and he really held his own at the event. Shoots it well, strong with the ball, confident. He has a killer 4.1 GPA, so admissions won’t be an issue.
Terrence Brown Terrence Brown 6'0" | PG Columbia Heights | 2022 State MN , Columbia Heights — It’s finally the end of the road for the guy who many of us first saw as a 5-foot-nothing YouTube guard years back. I think it was middle school when he had a MSHTV video that built hype, then he finally got a big growth spurt in the middle of high school which helped define him as a prospect. Now he’s a 6-foot-2 combo guard who is looking at all options. He hit a game-winning layup during the crunch time drill at the expo, showing huge confidence. He’s playing spring AAU with D1 MN and I believe all options are still open, including prep school.
