The 3rd Annual Balldawgs A.S Game is taking place on Sunday, May 1st at Spring Valley H.S in Las Vegas, NV. The game will be part of a series of events showcasing the class of 2022. In addition to the Local Game, the event will feature a 3-point shootout, a dunk contest, a girl’s game, and a National A.S game. The local game will feature players from the high school programs in Las Vegas. In this article, we take a look at the combo and point guards playing in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id="859641" first="Damion" last="Byrd"] 5’11 PG Silverado (#31) - Byrd missed some time this season for the Skyhawks, but has looked sharp since returning. He showed up to the Unsigned Senior Camp and showed quickness and playmaking ability. He then looked solid at a Pangos event later in the week. Good on-ball defender, with a tight handle, look for Byrd to make an impact on both sides of the ball in this game, which could be enough to propel him to the MVP award.

[player_tooltip player_id="1286525" first="Kenyon" last="Giles"] 5’10 PG Silverado (#6) (featured image) - Giles is going to be one of the MVP favorites in this one. The electrifying PG can get his shot off at any time and is probably salivating at the prospect of playing 1 v 1 all day. The scoring PG has signed to continue his career at Radford next season and would love to conclude his career by hoisting the MVP award.

[player_tooltip player_id="1270146" first="Emeka" last="Ceaser"] 5’11 PG Centennial (#51) - Ceaser is a tempo-changing guard at his best when playing with energy and effort. He has improved his outside shooting, forcing defenders to close to him. With his first step and speed, he has shown that he can consistently put pressure on opponents on both sides of the ball. He’s a player more than capable of hitting a couple of threes and getting a few steals, which is what he would need to do to give himself a chance at the award.

[player_tooltip player_id="1338397" first="David" last="Tinner"] 6’3 PF Cheyenne (#21) - I think the element of surprise is on TInner’s side. Tinner has the opportunity to cap a breakout senior season with an MVP award. A high flyer, he’s only going to need 1 or 2 big plays to make an impression. The forward will be able to pad the stats in both the rebounding and scoring category, making him a definite candidate for MVP honors.

[player_tooltip player_id="859660" first="Gavin" last="Douglas"] 6’7 PF Boulder City (#37) - Douglas should be healthy and ready to go for this one. If he is, watch out. Douglas is a high-flying forward, that can get to the rim and finish above it. If he’s active and aggressive, and with the stats to back it up, he could be a player that garners enough support to take down MVP honors.
