Continue ReadingElite prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) continue the annual spring ritual of announcing they are transferring high schools. Here in 2022, we do not anticipate the number of transfers to be overwhelming like the pandemic influenced off seasons of the past two years. However, we still expect there will be a host of extremely talented players who switch schools this spring/summer.
At Prephoops.com we will do our best to track all the player movements and pass that information on to our readers.
Below is the second installment in our 2022 Transfer Watch series.
Matt Gilhool Matt Gilhool 6'10" | C Long Island Lutheran | 2024 #254 Nation NY – 6’10” / Sophomore / Westtown School / Philly Pride National / Center: Gilhool is an athletic, double-double machine who posted impressive stats for Elizabethtown this past season — 14 ppg. & 10 rpg.; 60% on FGAs. He runs the floor like a wing and can operate in tight spaces like a guard. As a nice bonus, he can also play on the interior where he finishes through contact with both hands. Lastly, Gilhool has added three ball range to his jumper. With his size, speed and coordination, Gilhool is a fierce rebounder and intimidating rim protector. The highlight of Gilhool’s 2021-22 season was his 28 points and 17 rebounds performance in a win over Hempfield.
Justin Molen – 6’6” / Post Grad / Hill School / East Coast Cyclones / Point Guard: The former Salesianum School (DE) star player possesses an outstanding, well-rounded skill set that presents matchup issues for opponents. Molen can play on the perimeter where he can drain threes or use the dribble drive to create opportunities. This long prospect with good footwork can also take smaller defenders down low and score over them all night. In 2021-22 Molen averaged 14.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He was a 1st team all-state selection as well as Gatorade’s Delaware Boys Basketball POY.
Dan Springman – 6’8” / Post Grad / Brewster Academy / Philly Pride Select / Point Forward: At 6’8” and 200 pounds, Springman is a high-level interior prospect who can score, rebound, and block shots. Springman can finish around the rim through contact. His elbow jumpers are extremely dependable and like all modern bigs, he will drain the occasional three ball. During 2021-22 Springman played for the Haverford School where he averaged 6 ppg. This past season he posted an impressive 11 points and 11 rebounds double-double (To go along with 5 blocks.) against Abington Friends.
Cameron Wallace Cameron Wallace 6'5" | SF Westtown School | 2025 State PA – 6’4” / Freshman / Westtown School / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: Wallace grabbed headlines this past season when he posted a Great Valley HS single game scoring record of 40 points. Wallace maintained that stellar level of play for Great Valley all season as he averaged 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. Obviously, Wallace can score and rebound, but he is also a vastly underrated playmaker. This athletic and fast prospect is a transition game superstar, who can push the ball for buckets or to distribute to a teammate. In the half-court he can score off the bounce or by slashing to the rim for a catch and lay-in. With his size, speed and length, Wallace can defend 1 through 4.
