Manual led for the majority of the first half. Late in the second quarter Rocky got a few buckets and carried that momentum into the second half building up a lead. Cinderella wasn’t ready to say goodbye as Manual stormed back in the final minutes to tie it and send the game to OT. In the extra session Rock Island had just a little too much as they won 67-62. We look at the standout prospects in Top Performers: Rock Island vs Peoria Manual!
Amarion Nimmers Amarion Nimmers 6'2" | PG Rock Island | 2022 State IL (Rock Island – 2022)
Nimmers had moments where he took over in this one as the senior guard recorded 19 points in the victory. Athletic combo guard that has good handles being able to get in the lane for acrobatic layups while also utilizing his crisp three point shot as he hit a pair in the win. He is at his best when playing on the ball and using his athleticism to score on nifty conversions in the paint. Low-majors should take a look as he will see a big jump in his final ranking.
Marieon Anderson Marieon Anderson 6'3" | SG Rock Island | 2022 State IL (Rock Island – 2022)
Anderson is a big bodied wing that does most of his damage in the paint. Loves to attack downhill where he finishes well in traffic with bodies bouncing right off of him. Excellent offensive rebounder with a quick second jump. Plays off his physicality on both ends of the floor. Also made some key plays on defense at the top of their zone. Went for 17 points.
Baker Beal (Rock Island – 2022)
Beal is a strong bodied 6’6” 230 pound man in the lane. He had some key plays in this one recording 15 points with his toughness around the hoop. Had a big and-1 late in the contest along with always seeming to have a nose for the basketball.
Justin Page Justin Page 6'3" | SG Peoria Manuel | 2023 State IL (Peoria Manual – 2023)
Page is the top prospect for Manual. The junior is a silky smooth perimeter threat that hit a trio from beyond the arc. Clean looking shot that he can hit from inside the arc as well. Shooting guard with D1 upside and will be interesting to track over the next few months as he went for 17 points.
Kamron Causey (Peoria Manual – 2022)
Causey had a nice game. The small forward is a versatile inside/outside threat that can defend. Shot the ball well in this game including a picture perfect pair of jumpers in the first half. Good rebounder with his quickness. Small college or JUCO gem. He scored 15 points.
Idius Robertson Idius Robertson 6'8" | C Peoria | 2022 State IL (Peoria Manual – 2022)
Robertson had a strong first half and the wide bodied five had some moments later as well. Anchors down low carving out space and has touch in the paint while also being light on his feet for his size. Robertson netted 15 points in the loss.
Devonte Burse Devonte Burse 5'10" | PG Peoria Manual Academy | 2023 IL (Peoria Manual – 2023)
Burse popped on our radar with a solid outing. The smaller point guard was money with his mid-range game hitting an array of them for the Rams.
