Rankings Update: Western PA Under-The-Radar Players

At Rankings Update time many people focus their attention on the Top 10 players, highest-ranked guards, forwards, etc. Here at Prep Hoops PA, our objective is to showcase not only the best high school players in the state but also the under-the-radar kids. These guys might not be as talented as some of the higher-ranked basketball individuals, but they put the time and effort into fine-tuning their craft as well. We have organized an extensive list of those types of hardwood performers.

UNDER_THE_RADAR_PLAYERS:

Sal Laure Sal Laure 6'0" | CG Rochester | 2022 State PA , Rochester HS, 5’10 combo guard

• He can manage a game, while still being able to score a good amount of points to help out his team.

Makhi Beard Makhi Beard 6'3" | SG Bishop Canevin | 2022 State PA , Bishop Canevin HS, 6’3 shooting guard

• Despite not starting often on a talented squad this young man does a terrific job getting everyone involved during a contest.

Carter Anthony Carter Anthony 6'0" | PG Central Catholic | 2022 State PA , Central Catholic HS, 6’0 point guard

• His shooting skill is evident when coming off screens or moving without the ball for open looks in the half-court set.

Logan Yater Logan Yater 5'10" | PG South Fayette | 2022 State PA , South Fayette HS, 5’11 combo guard

• A tough, hard-nosed guard that brings intensity on both the offensive and defensive end of the court.

Luke Brandner Luke Brandner 6'6" | PF Mt. Pleasant | 2022 State PA , Mt. Pleasant HS, 6’6 power forward

• He has great footwork in the post and rebounds at a high level on both ends of the floor.

Alexander Roth Alexander Roth 6'2" | SF Ellwood City | 2022 State PA , Ellwood City HS, 6’2 wing forward

• An overall balanced player who always looks to make his teammates better around him each game.

Senique Jenkins Senique Jenkins 6'6" | PF Imani Christian | 2022 State PA , Imani Christian HS, 6’5 power forward

• This tall, lanky shot-blocker enjoys defending the basket on defense while working hard on the offensive end in the middle of the zone.

Brandon Gunzburg Brandon Gunzburg 6'2" | SG Avonworth | 2022 State PA , Avonworth HS, 6’2 shooting guard

• The shooting range of this young man makes him tough to guard for the defense.

Jackson LaRocka Jackson LaRocka 6'1" | CG Burgettstown | 2022 State PA , Burgettstown HS, 6’1 shooting guard

• His slick ball-handling skills disrupt any type of defensive from the opponent on a given night.

Ryan Greggerson Ryan Greggerson 6'8" | C Gateway | 2022 State PA , Gateway HS, 6’8 center

• An extremely sound big man who likes to dominate the low block and owns a superb “baby hook” shot

Robby Jones Robby Jones 6'3" | SG North Allegheny | 2022 State PA , North Allegheny HS, 6’2 shooting guard

• A “lights out” shooter from deep range beyond the arc, as well as mid-range.

JD Azulay JD Azulay 6'1" | SG Rochester | 2022 State PA , Rochester HS, 6’0 combo guard

• A smooth penetrator that distributes the ball to his teammates for open looks in the half-court set and transition.

Logan Bernesser Logan Bernesser 6'7" | PF Shaler | 2022 State PA , Shaler HS, 6’6 power forward

• This strong, skilled big man rose to the occasion during the winter months with improved footwork and post play.

DJ Jackson DJ Jackson 6'4" | SG First Love Christian Academy | 2022 State PA , First Love Christian Academy, 6’4 small forward

• His arsenal includes a good amount of dribble moves to get to the rim, while still having the skill to knock down jumpers.

Michael Graham Michael Graham 6'1" | CG New Castle | 2022 State PA , New Castle HS, 6’0 point guard

• A floor general for a constant championship team has led to the solid development of this point guard from New Castle HS.

Devin Burgess Devin Burgess 6'5" | PF North Hills | 2022 State PA , North Hills HS, 6’5 wing forward

• An athletic wing who likes to get out on the break and finish at the rim or with pull-up jump shots.

Drew Howard Drew Howard 6'2" | PF Geibel Catholic | 2022 State PA , Geibel Catholic HS, 6’2 wing forward

• He has the foundation of being a very solid defender for his team and providing the spark with steals/deflections.

Logan Dexter Logan Dexter 6'2" | PF Springdale | 2022 State PA , Springdale HS, 6’2 small forward

• The ability to fill the stat sheet in a variety of ways makes this hooper a match-up problem for the opponent.

Aden Saunders Aden Saunders 6'2" | SG Montour | 2022 State PA , Montour HS, 6’2 small forward

• He has extremely high basketball knowledge and is a proven leader on the floor for the Montour Spartans.

Chris Dvorak Chris Dvorak 6'6" | PF Mars | 2022 State PA , Mars HS, 6’6 power forward

• A beast on the inside on both ends of the court who still likes to set out and knock down a few mid-range shots as well
