The 2024 Rankings have a lot of new names, more than 40 prospects were added to this deep class. With the restrictions being lifted PH was able to venture further out into the large region of NorCal. Here’s more prospects from the class of 2024 that are new, and now on the PH radar.

[player_tooltip player_id="1383577" first="Tyler" last="Wentworth"] 6’5 W/F of central Catholic.

In the early part of the season we saw Wentworth playing in the post, where he was an effective player with a solid body who defended, and could score in the post going up strong off two feet and along the baseline. The next time we saw the two sport athlete (football) he was spotting up knocking down 3ptrs from the wings and top of the key. 11.4pts, 7.7rebs.

William Ambridge 6’5 F of San Ramon Valley

Ambridge is a hard working forward who works well in and around the post area. He attacks the basket well along the baseline, he goes up strong of two in the paint, he’ll battle for rebound put backs, and loose balls. He’s a long armed player with some toughness, he’ll defend on the block. He doesn’t need to score points to have an effect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1395412" first="Joaquin" last="Aguillon"] 6’1 SG of Branson

He’s one of four starting underclassmen at Branson 28-5, 12-2 that’s one game away from the State Final. He’ll guard one of the scorers on the other team. He’s has long arms and moves well on both ends. He runs the court well and will knock down open 3’s in the corner. He’s a smart player, a ball mover, with a good understanding of what he contributes to the team. He’s on Wright’s Watch List.

[player_tooltip player_id="1384820" first="Jake" last="Vasquez"] 6’3 PG of Redwood.

Vasquez can handle and pass with the good vision, He really looks to push or pass up in transition. He can move off the ball and be an effective scorer with good drives to the basket from the perimeter. He has good form, and a quick release on his 3pt shot. At 6’3 he’ll get rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="1382859" first="Darnell" last="Hunter"] 6’0 PG, CG of Grant

Hunter is a quick speedy guard with superb handles. He’s aggressive attacking the basket whether it’s in transition or in half-court. He has the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. He has a pull up jumper, and he plays with good intensity on both sides. We’ll keep an eye on him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380770" first="Tyler" last="Bergren"] 5’6 PG of Campolindo.

Bergren at 5’6 is a feisty competitor, he uses his footspeed and leverage to be a good on ball defender when he’s on the court. He comes off the bench with good handles, knowing how to run the offense, make good passing decisions, and will get into the lane at times for floaters, and paint jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1383604" first="Kendahl" last="Hearn"] 6’3 SG of Sacramento

Hearn is an athletic two sport prospect ( football). He’s strong, has good footspeed and moves well on the court. He’s a versatile type of player who can help with rebounding, defending multiple positions, in open space, and he’ll sprint the court going both ways. He’s a good enough ball handler to get himself to the basket off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id="1314344" first="Zander" last="Jimenez"] 6’2 G of Salesian College Prep.

Jimenez a good versatile two sport athlete (track) has the footspeed, quickness and lateral movement to be a top notch defender, whether he’s on the ball or defending a scorer on the perimeter. He’ll score on transition layups using his speed to fill lanes, and quickness getting into the paint. He’s on the Watch List.

[player_tooltip player_id="1382886" first="Navaughn" last="Long"] 6’3 G/W of Granada

Long is a wiry prospect with good length who we’ll see more of. He wasn’t a starter but did show us he can be a contributor on both ends. He did a good job filling the lanes in transition. His length and movements helps him rebound, and defend multiple positions. He moves well without the ball, slashing and cutting to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="1382885" first="Ben" last="Dotta"] 6’6 W/F of Santa Cruz

He’s on the thin side but has a good understanding of what to do when he enters the game. He’s a good passer from the high post. He runs the court well, and will shoot the 3 if open. He can get his shot off on the low block with a turn around jumper or jump hook. He’s long and will go after rebounds and blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id="1383579" first="Uriah" last="Brown"] 5’10 PG, CG of Santa Teresa

A scoring guard who can play both guard positions. He was the teams leading scorer 16.9. He’s aggressive looking for his shot by way of pull up jumpers off the dribble or getting it into the paint. His handles are decent he’ll find open teammates 3.3asts. He’s a tenacious on ball defender, 1.7stls a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1383607" first="Nic" last="Cubley"] 6’3 G/F of San Marin

Cubley is one we’ll keep an eye on. He’s still growing. He has a good set of skills, and brings a versatile style to the court. At 6’3 he’s aggressive in and around the basket working for rebounds, and finishing strong off two feet. He’s shown he can handle and score for himself on the perimeter. He’ll hit open 3’s, and get into the paint using his dribble. He has sneaky hops. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List.
