The competition was competitive and high scoring for all ages, these prospects brought an abundance of intensity and energy from day to day. Here we’ll take a look at a few of the most impressive slashers that made major contributions and game-changing impacts throughout the weekend.
Evan Gunn | Guard | Oklahoma City, OK | ODE 2026
Lead guard, Evan Gunn finished extremely well with creative circus shots through physicality near the hoop. Great body control, his knack for using his body strength to create space assisted Gunn greatly when driving and initiating contact on his way to the basket before completing the layup with either hand. Evan Gunn stood out as a tempo setter that played at a steady pace but was effective in all speeds of play, he controlled the flow of the game, set the tone, and made crucial buckets when they were needed the most.
Brandon Stephens | Guard | Carrollton, TX | Prep Starz 2026
Brandon Stephens displayed the eurostep as a go-to move that seemed to work in his favor each time he attempted to extend his drive. This crafty move was very effective no matter how many times he did it, although Stephens could score on a straight-line attack, he loved utilizing fake-out moves and eurosteps to get past the defense for a bucket at the rim. The eighth-grade recruit made great use of his footwork by covering a large amount of ground and avoiding charges.
Keith Cox | Guard | DeWitt, AR | Next Page Force 2027
Next Page Force’s Keith Cox is a score-first lefty who looked to take his man off the bounce every chance he got, fighting through traffic and contact without ever expecting the call. Tough to keep away from the basket when he’s given the baseline or an angle to drive from the wing, if the defense was in poor positioning when he received the ball Keith was sure to get past them instantly. Anytime Cox didn’t have the rock in his hand he was always in the right spot due to his timely backdoor cuts, usually finding himself in the playmaker spot waiting for a dump-off pass for a quick layup.
Byron Daniels Jr | Guard | Fayetteville, AR | Woodz Elite 2028
Byron Daniels really impacted games by getting into the teeth of the defense and causing foul trouble. The Arkansas native excelled in the open floor due to his long strides combined with his speed, in the halfcourt he created for himself off the dribble, he showed off a powerful first step which allowed him to blow by defenders, and he also showcased explosiveness going up with a strong upper body that was able to absorb all types of contact in traffic The ultimate slasher, this kid continuously attacked the lane and got buckets from both sides of the hoop.
Karter Coleman | Guard | Bentonville, AR | Woodz Elite 2028
Karter Coleman played the game at his own pace, keeping a steady speed, scored within the flow of the offense, never once allowing the defense to get him out of character, and showing a great feel for driving the lane by making a few combination dribbles and attacking his opponents weakside hip. The 5-foot-10-inch combo guard showed glimpses of greatness with his high volume scoring in the post, Karter got the bulk of his buckets in or on his way to the hoop with smooth layups or floaters. Coleman scored well through contact and traffic, keeping good focus and his eyes locked onto his target before putting the ball off the glass with a soft touch. One of Coleman’s best attributes is his scoring instincts, he consistently displayed great shot selection and a versatile offensive attack.
