The Bulldogs from Madison played a very impressive and difficult schedule. They went up against many teams that were ranked in the State. Late in the year, Madison had a monster win in the Region 3 Semi's to knock off West Central who was a tough team. Next up the Bulldogs had to play #1 Dakota Valley in the SODAK 16. Madison lost that one but they put up a good fight against the undefeated Panthers. Madison will lose a bunch of players to graduation but they have some very nice players coming up with a ton of potential. Read below for Bulldog stats, comments from coach Jeff Larsen and the scores/schedule from the season.

Q & A with Coach Jeff Larsen

PHD: What were some of the highlights of the season?

Coach Larsen: "Our biggest highlight of the season was beating West Central in the Regional Semi-finals on March 4th. We also competed in a ton of games that were decided by just a few points."

Coach Larsen: "All the players improved throughout the season. [player_tooltip player_id="1204807" first="Aiden" last="Jensen"] took a huge stride from his Sophomore to Junior year. He put in a ton of work in the offseason to become a great player."

PHD: Who were your biggest "impact players" this season?

Coach Larsen: "[player_tooltip player_id="1204807" first="Aiden" last="Jensen"], Nate Ricke, [player_tooltip player_id="1276565" first="Aspen" last="Dahl"], Trey Smith, [player_tooltip player_id="1263162" first="Ben" last="Brooks"], Mickale Dohrer, Peyton Wolf, and Cody Klein all made big impacts throughout the season."

PHD: Who was your best practice player and why?

Coach Larsen: "Everyone worked hard in practice but when it came to rebounding nobody was going to outrebound Cody Klein in practice."

PHD: Who were some of your key bench players?

Coach Larsen: "[player_tooltip player_id="1263162" first="Ben" last="Brooks"], Cody Klein, and Peyton Wolf were our three guys off the bench during games. The JV also did a great job pushing the varsity every day in practice."

PHD: Can you make a few comments about the seniors that you are losing?

Coach Larsen: "We are losing 7 seniors that dedicated a ton of time and energy for the boy’s basketball program the last four years. They are great young men that will do great things going forward. They pushed themselves to be better every day in practice and were very coachable. I will miss each and every one of them."

PHD: Who are some of your top players that will be back next season?

Coach Larsen: "[player_tooltip player_id="1204807" first="Aiden" last="Jensen"] (Senior to be) and [player_tooltip player_id="1263162" first="Ben" last="Brooks"] (Sophomore to be) are our two returning guys that played Varsity for next year. A lot of my JV players will need to step into Varsity roles for next season."
