The Top Gun Showcase featured 8 teams over 2 days at Butler High School. Earlier I shared my top performers from the Hillcrest vs Compass Prep game. In my second game, I checked out national power Link Academy against prep blue blood Huntington Prep. Here were the top performers from the game.

[player_tooltip player_id="981141" first="Tarris" last="Reed Jr"] (2022) Link Academy

Reed is a massive big man for the Lions and impressed against Huntington Prep. The 6-foot-10 Michigan commit utilizes his large frame. Jockeys for position and attacks rebounds and interior shots. Composed through contact and finished shots at a high level. Reed has a bright future in the Big Ten.

[player_tooltip player_id="889560" first="Jordan" last="Walsh"] (2022) Link Academy

Walsh is arguably one of the best prospects that attended the Top Gun Showcase as the Arkansas commit was pivotal in Link’s come-from-behind win. Walsh has tremendous footwork on either ends of the floor and great body control on the offensive side. While he can fill up the scoring column, Walsh has great defensive awareness when it comes to defending the wing and can lock it down. I really like his upside in the SEC next year.

[player_tooltip player_id="977623" first="Maki" last="Johnson"] (2023) Huntington Prep

Johnson got out of the blocks fast against Link getting 12 early points just off his shooting. Johnson spaces the floor and has a great shooting touch. Elite catch-and-shoot option on the perimeter with great releases and footwork. Once he gets into a groove, Johnson is almost impossible to contain. HM recruit with a high ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id="889573" first="Cruz" last="Davis"] (2022) Huntington Prep

Davis impressed me at Flyin to the Hoop and again last Sunday. Handled pretty tough pressure from Link and got the ball into the halfcourt setting. Had some tough contested makes both off the bounce and pullup midrange shots. Confident shooter once he got into a groove for Huntington Prep.
