There were three divisions, the gold division, the silver division and the high school division, and there was tons of talent for all collegiate levels. If you’re interested in watching the conference tournament, you can get the play back on cbglivenetwork.com.
The winners of the three brackets were:
Gold: Scotland Red (National)
Silver: Phelps School PG
High School: Scotland Campus Black
Here’s a look at part one of the standouts from the Pennsylvania teams in attendance.
Jordan Shorter | 6’5” WF | Scotland Red (National) 2022
Shorter was arguably the most consistent player for Scotland on their way to the conference championship, as the 6’5” wing is a very versatile player who impacts the game on both ends of the floor and always comes up big when his team needs him to. At 6’5” he has good size on the wing and he can put it on the deck and get to the rim, he creates space well and can is able to make contested shots from deep and in the midrange and he put up big numbers in both of their wins against good Olympus and Mount Zion teams.
Halil Barre | 6’9” PF | Scotland Red (National) 2022
I’m convinced that Barre is one of the best available big men on the east coast, and he shows a mix of potential moving forward as well as good skillset, athleticism and production at this point in his career too. The 6’9” big has good length and uses that as a rim protector and finisher, he moves well and has good hands and finishing ability through contact when he’s in the paint and he has much better touch than given credit for as he can step out and make shots and he makes his free throws as well.
Jaden Alexander | 6’3” WG | Scotland Red (National) 2022
Alexander is the top scorer for this Scotland team, and he showed that as he scored over 20 points in both of their games against Olympus and Mt. Zion and he did it from multiple levels while also showing good toughness and a high motor as well. He can knock down shots consistently from deep both off the catch and off the bounce with good range, he can get downhill and finish at and above the rim and thrives in transition and he brings it and competes at a high level fighting for loose balls and defending as well.
Shawn Fulcher | 6’0” CG | Scotland Red (National) 2022
Fulcher was huge in the championship game for Scotland, as the 6’0” combo guard provided a spark off the bench and absolutely took over the game down the stretch for them to win a championship. With Scotland trailing late in the game and after some chippy play, Fulcher was inserted in the game and took over as he showed great control off the bounce to get in the lane and drew contact frequently to get to the line, he showed tough shot making ability from multiple levels and he was big time as a scorer down the stretch when his team need him to take over.
Xaivian Lee | 6’3” CG | Perkiomen 2022
Lee, who is committed to Princeton, showed a lot of promise and skill set in Perkiomen’s two games, as he is able to play both guard positions and has an excellent IQ on both ends of the floor. He moves well without the ball, he can handle pressure and plays with good pace and has a lot of moves and hesitations, he can make shots from multiple levels and he fits in a lot of different roles. He finished with 25 in their last second loss to Mt. Zion in the conference semifinals.
Ryan Dunn Ryan Dunn 6'7" | SF Perkiomen | 2022 State #92 Nation PA | 6’’7” WF | Perkiomen 2022
The UVA commit was coming off of an ankle injury and it was his first games back in a few weeks, but it was easy to see what makes him such a high level prospect moving forward. He’s an elite athlete that can play above the rim and is strong around the rim, he can create shots and make tough shots from multiple levels and he can defend at a high level as well. He finished with 15 while playing just one half in their win over West Nottingham in their first game.
Priest Ryan | 6’6” PF | Perkiomen 2022
Ryan was arguably the most consistent player for Perkimomen over both games, as the 6’6” forward did a little bit of everything to help his team on both ends of the floor. He’s very versatile as he can play on the perimeter and knock down shots, he’s strong and bouncy around the rim as he can rebound and finish in the paint and he brings a good amount of energy to his team on both ends. He finished with 20 in their win over West Nottingham and 15 in their close loss to Mount Zion.
