This much-anticipated matchup will feature arguably the best team in SWFL, The 26-2 First Baptist Academy Lions out of Naples, FL.
Against the highly favored number 1 ranked 2A program in Florida, 33rd in the nation (according to Maxpreps) the 24-4 Orlando Christian Prep Warriors.

My key players to watch for this matchup are the following:

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="546193" first="AJ" last="Brown"] 6’4 Guard OCP

Brown, OCP’s leading scorer and anchor for this tough team out of Orlando will certainly be a focal point of FBA’s defensive scheme. Aj scoring just shy of 500 points so far this season, is a tough cover and needs to be accounted for at all times on the court. He’s proven time and time again this season why he’s one of the best guards in the state.

This season he’s shot a very respectable 42% from behind the 3 and can seemingly get to the rim at will. The Ohio Basketball commit has his eyes set on another 2A state title.

2023 6’2 Latrell Davis Guard FBA

Davis the FACA 2A player of the year had a breakout season giving FBA the weapon they needed to plow through everyone on their schedule. This tough guard bullies less physical players and seems to be able to force his way into paint with his tenacious style of play. Latrell is also a great shooter from behind the arc shooting right at 40%. This two-way player will need to have a big game if FBA hopes to advance.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1164268" first="Olsen" last="Henry"] 6’4 SF FBA

This junior prospect plays much bigger than his size. Henry leads his team in rebounds. A vicious paint protector averaging 7 RPG and a respectable 14.7 PPG. This two-sport stud backs down from no one. He is a fierce competitor holding multiple high major offers for football. Look for his physical style of play to be a difference-maker in this match-up.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="712105" first="Ven-Allen" last="Lubin"] 6’8 Forward OCP

The 4 star Notre Dame commit is an absolute powerhouse of a paint presence. Lubin does everything his team needs. He’s a lob threat, blocks shots, scores in the post, protects the paint, and can hit the open jumper from 3.

His leadership and do it all mentality will be a major key in OCP’s push for a 3rd state title.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1055785" first="Ameer" last="Ramadan"] 6’0 Point Guard OCP

The sophomore prospect runs OCP’s offense with surgical precision. Ramadan has a tight handle controlling the pace of games. A capable tempo pusher and floor general Ameer finds his teammates with pinpoint accuracy.

The underclassman is averaging 8 ppg and 4 APG. His ability to take care of the ball and set his teammates up has been a vital part of OCP’s dominant season.
