PREVIEW

District 15 in DeWitt drew my eye. This might be an underestimated district. The quality of play much outscores the records in this draw. Every team features talented players and every game has the potential to be close at the end. While East Lansing is the obvious favorite, they will certainly be tested in every matchup they manage.

PLAYERS

[player_tooltip player_id="1068135" first="Nick" last="Ellis"] (2022, PF, Grand Ledge)

Ellis is a high quality post player with a ton of upside as a prospect. He’s a tough matchup with his size and quality footwork, making him a very dangerous matchup in a win or go home game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1352957" first="Bryce" last="Kurncz"] (2023, CG, DeWitt)

Kurnz has put up some simply staggering numbers this season. He’s scored the ball in bunches and in a variety of ways. Kurnz can get buckets in the flow of the offense as well as create on his own. If he gets hot, he can be the go-to guy on a district championship team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1140329" first="Deunte" last="Phifer"] (2024, SG, Lansing Waverly)

I’m pretty high on what Phifer has to offer as a player and a prospect. He’s an athletic scorer that can make tough plays look easy. I really believe that Phifer has take over talent and that he can lead his team to big wins in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="986889" first="Teddy" last="Williams"] (2023, F, Grand Ledge)

Williams is such a difficult matchup. He can really read his matchups and attack accordingly. Put a big on him and he can pull him out and stretch the floor. Put a smaller wing on him and he can attack from the block.

[player_tooltip player_id="863943" first="Mason" last="Woods"] (2022, PG, East Lansing)

There aren’t many lead guards that can handle the rock like Woods can. He can handle a press on his own and can play at any pace. Woods is a superior athlete in the backcourt.
