Harris Kampe, 6’2, Guard, 2023, Jackson High
Kampe is a player that has made some serious noise during the second half of the season and throughout the playoffs for Jackson. He is one of the best on-ball defenders with his great anticipation and quick hands. Kampe was actually the 6th-man and would come into the game very early. In several games, he provided a scoring ability that was hard to ignore. Notably, against state-ranked Mariner, Kampe shot 4 of 5 from the field with three consecutive 3s within the first 4 minutes of his play. He was also in charge of the point guard duties. I believe he will make a huge jump going into his senior season.
Isaiah White, 6’4, Guard, 2024, Everett High
White as a sophomore, displayed one of the highest skill sets during his season. He played both guard positions, but is a true pure PG in my opinion. He has a great ability to create looks for himself, but it is his IQ to set up his teammates that will make him a force to be reckoned with. With his size, he is also able to bother smaller opponents and make life difficult for any guard that tries to set up the offense against him. Watch for the Everett phenom to lead them to high places next season.
Manolo Ramos Roque, 5’10, Guard, 2023, Shorecrest High
Sometimes it is hard to find a rhythm in a stacked team such as Shorecrest. Going 20-5 overall, 13-2 in league play, Roque is a combo guard that has unlimited range, and one of the quickest triggers I have seen in recent memory. He attacks the basket with aggression and can finish with the best of them. His ability to read passing lanes on the defensive end allows him to really show off his speed in the open court. With 4 seniors gone, Roque can take that next leap of leadership if he can level up his playmaking abilities.
Jo Lee, 6’0, Guard, 2025, Glacier Peak High
Lee is a fascinating player that took on the role of running the point as a freshman alongside senior Aidan Davis. With Davis and All-League Siebers now gone, this is his team to lead. As the season went on, he displayed a great level of leadership and IQ with his crafty play for his team. He is most dangerous at the pick and roll game. He is one of the best at manipulating screens to get to his spots and create shots for his teammates. Look for Lee to expand his game even further throughout the summer and into next season.
Stavontai McSwain, 5’8, Guard, 2025, Mariner High
One word to describe McSwain is electric. He was the only freshman to be part of a Mariner Varsity team that went to state. He is a menace with his on-ball defense, and can shift into another gear in transition. He has the ability to pull up on a dime and go to the rack seeking contact. He is an unselfish player that creates looks for his teammates. Look for him to step up in a big way this upcoming season.
