<p>The 2022 rankings update is finally here as almost 100 prospects were added. The surge of new prospects is always exciting as it has a big effect on how the rankings shake out. Here are the top newcomers in the 2022 rankings update.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="836479" first="Guy" last="Fauntleroy"], 6’0 PG Olympus Prep</strong></p>
<p>Fauntleroy has been electric for Olympus Prep all season long, including a big performance in the GAC Tournament. The Austin Peay commit has a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the rim. Fauntleroy is a microwave as he can score points in bunches and has a nice touch on his floater. He shoots the ball with confidence from distance and is capable of making tough shots in big situations. Fauntleroy is an explosive scorer who lit up the scoreboard all season.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1394458" first="Jalijah" last="Grant"], 6’4 SG St. Benedict’s</strong></p>
<p>Grant had a big season on the perimeter for the Grey Bees as he fit in nicely into their system. The Canadian native has a good shooting stroke and does not force many shots in the half court. Grant is more than just a shooter as he has an underrated handle and is a solid finisher around the basket. He is a good rebounder and uses his strong frame nicely on the defensive end. Grant is a gritty guard prospect who helped St. Benedict’s take home the Prep A championship this season.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1381147" first="Samar" last="Abdullah"], 5’11 PG St. Thomas Aquinas</strong></p>
<p>Abdullah has had a breakout season for the Trojans as he compliments classmate <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1013044" first="Adam" last="Silas"] </strong>nicely. The 5’11 guard is a tough on-ball defender as he makes it hard for opponents to get into their sets. Abdullah has a quick release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He has a good first step, which he uses to finish around the basket or make plays for his teammates. Abdullah is a hard-working guard prospect who has been key to St. Thomas Aquinas’ success this season.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1394457" first="Conal" last="Parnell"], 6’7 SF/PF St. Benedict’s Prep</strong></p>
<p>Parnell might not be the biggest name on the Grey Bees’ roster, but his impact was felt in every game. The 6’7 forward is comfortable playing on the perimeter as he can beat his defender off the bounce and shoots the ball with confidence from behind the arc. Parnell is also a good passer and moves well off the ball. He is a solid rebounder and slides his feet on the defensive end. Parnell is a versatile prospect who made winning plays for St. Benedict’s all season.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1045681" first="Austin" last="Green"], 6’7 PF Covenant College Prep</strong></p>
<p>Green has had a solid overall season for Covenant College Prep as he was able to put his game on display. The 6’7 forward is at his best attacking the basket as he finishes strong above the rim and does not mind contact. Green has a nice touch around the basket and has shown the ability to bring the ball up at times. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has a nice touch on his free throws. Green’s ability to score in the post is something that has helped his stock in a good way throughout 2022.</p>
