<p>The Wichita area is home to some of the top 2024s. [player_tooltip player_id="1270094" first="Andrell" last="Burton"] of Campus and [player_tooltip player_id="1172929" first="Michael" last="Kates"] of Maize South are just a couple of the best sophomores in the area.</p>
<p>Within the Greater Wichita City League, here are some sophomores who are standing out:</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1270090" first="TJ" last="Williams"], 6-foot-4 guard, 2024, Wichita Heights:</p>
<p>Williams rose to the top of the 2024 rankings with a great freshman campaign. This year he’s playing a key role for the third-ranked team in 6A, a team with the experience and diversity to go far in the state playoffs. Williams is averaging 12.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2. assists for the loaded Falcons.</p>
<p><strong>Gavyn Phillips</strong>, 6-foot-5 center, 2024, Wichita West:</p>
<p>The Pioneers have had a tough season and are relying on a couple of young players to build for the future. Phillips is a long shot-blocking big man for the team to build around. He leads the Pioneers with 11.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.</p>
<p><strong>Mikey Brand</strong>, 6-foot-3 forward, 2024, Carroll:</p>
<p>Brand is a long athlete who can shoot it. He gives the Golden Eagles a player to build around. Brand is averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds as an emerging sophomore.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1270290" first="Tesean" last="Williams"] 5-foot-7 guard, 2024, Wichita Northwest:</p>
<p>Williams is a explosive component of the highly-ranked Grizzlies. With a lot of good players around him, Williams doesn’t have to rack up big stats, but he’s a threat from deep and a lightning flash in the open court. Williams is producing 9.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists for the eighth-ranked 6A team.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1270099" first="Robert" last="Basks"], 6-foot guard, 2024, West:</p>
<p>One of the best shooters in the city, Basks has caught fire, knocking down multiple threes in several games in recent weeks, including four against Kapaun last week.</p>
