BROOKFIELD -- In a tightly contested Greater Metro Conference battle, Brookfield Central rallied from an eight-point deficit with under three minutes remaining to steal a win over Wauwatosa East...

Think Bond locked up the No. 2 spot in the 2022 class. You can make a case for [player_tooltip player_id="801148" first="Andrew" last="Rohde"] and I don’t know how hard I’d argue it, but the ceiling on bond remains so high and he’s taken significant steps forward every single year. Don’t know if I’ve covered a player that’s improved his weaknesses as much as Bond, who couldn’t shoot a lick as a freshman or sophomore, but is now coming off screens and hitting 3-pointers on the go. The jumper is still going to be a work in progress at Virginia, but the 6-foot-5 wing is now reliable in the mid-range off the dribble and with his athleticism and burst, defenders can’t let him get a head of steam to the rim either. Bond had a fire lit under him in the second half. The Lancers were threatening to pull away, he wasn't getting some calls, and Bond brought Tosa East right back. Bond finished with a game-high 29 points (13-21), 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals in the loss.

The closer Daugherty can be ’Robin’ to the ’Batman’ that is [player_tooltip player_id="801148" first="Andrew" last="Rohde"], the better long term prospects this Brookfield Central squad has. Rohde was outstanding once again, but did slow down in the final minutes and was forced to get the ball out of his hands. That left Daugherty to save the day. The 6-foot-8 sophomore knocked in two clutch 3-pointers late to lead the comeback. Daugherty shot the ball extremely well, chipping in with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-11 from downtown. Really interested to see Daugherty in the off-season. He doesn't showcase it a ton, but the mismatch nightmare versatility is there in terms of being able to take bigs off the dribble and face-up and attack in the mid-range. Think it's just a matter of getting in-game reps at it as well as building some some strength.

[player_tooltip player_id="801148" first="Andrew" last="Rohde"] - 2022 - SG - Brookfield Central

Said it before, I’ll say it again, St. Thomas might hit the jackpot with Rohde. Defenders are fully aware at this point, if you don't have a hand up and/or get right into Rohde's shorts, you might as well just put three points on the scoreboard. Rohde is playing so confidently right now, he's shooting in rhythm from 4-5 feet past the arc at times and not thinking twice about it. Not only is he scoring at a high level, Rohde is doing everything for the Lancers. He was one rebound and one point shy of a triple-double to go along with his 27 points and also grabbed four steals on Tuesday. Love how smooth Rohde is as an isolation scorer as well. He might be 6-foot-6 and long, but Rohde can stop and start, change directions, and get defenders guessing when he gets them isolated on an island.

Lamar Smith - 2022 - SG - Wauwatosa East

Had the Red Raiders pulled this one out, I would have called Smith the difference-maker. The senior guard just made plays at the right times and had Tosa East in position to win this game. Smith came up with 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals on Tuesday. Bond is going to draw the lion's share of the attention. Smith got himself into high percentage areas, made the correct reads, and just made things happen on the offensive end of the floor. Felt like every time Tosa East made a run, Smith had something to do with it.
