Here’s who made the second-team.
Isaiah Regular, Memphis Overton: The 6-foot-7 senior forward made a difference for the Wolverines whenever he was on the floor, averaging 12 points and 13.5 rebounds per game in league play. Offensively, he can make shots from the perimeter and catch lobs in transition and in half-court. Defensively, he can alter shots at the rim. Regular was one of the premier big men in the league this season.
Jherrone Jones, Memphis Overton: Jones was a highlight reel all season long. The senior guard was also one of the best catch-and-shoot guys on the floor in league play. Jones averaged 20.1 points per game, which included a lot of whoa dunks.
Chip Brunt, Whitehaven: In his first and only season playing for the Tigers, the senior combo guard helped the program finish second in the league. Brunt was right behind Kristian Spencer Kristian Spencer 6'2" | SG Whitehaven | 2022 State TN in scoring at 18.9 points per game.
Billy Richmond, Memphis East: The 6-6 sophomore combo guard showed promise of his full potential this season, with his ability to push the ball up the floor in transition and crash the boards. Alijah Curry, Memphis East: The Mustangs had balance this season, and Curry was definitely in the mix. The 6-8 sophomore forward averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds for Memphis East in league play, showing moments of how high is upside is.
Honorable mentions: Kody Hickerson (White Station), Kyler Dandridge (White Station), Chauncey Holmes (Kingsbury), Xavier Alexander (Kingsbury), and Jaden Taylor (Memphis Overton).
Javonte Holmes (Memphis East) is TSSAA District 16 Class 4A’s Coach of the Year.
