Top Class A Players to Watch Heading into the Postseason: Part 1

This year in Class A boys basketball we have seen a boatload of top tier talent hit the hardwood. From lethal shooters, to high flyers, and dominate post players, there truly have been some exciting prospects to watch in North Dakota. In this article I will be listing the top players from the EDC and WDA to watch for as we near the postseason.

Eastern Dakota Conference

Mason Klabo Mason Klabo 6'1" | PG Fargo Davies | 2025 State ND (Fargo Davies) – 24.1ppg 6.1rpg 4.1apg 3.2spg

As you can see the freshman out of Fargo Davies Mason Klabo Mason Klabo 6'1" | PG Fargo Davies | 2025 State ND is an all around great player. He is a confident scorer from anywhere on the court, a beast on the boards for his height, someone who will find the open man, and a thief on the defensive end. This season the Eagle already received an offer from NDSU, and thats only the beginning.

Jeremiah Sem Jeremiah Sem 6'3" | SG Fargo North | 2024 State #212 Nation ND (Fargo North) – 23.7ppg 3.3spg 3.21 3’s per game

This high flyer out of Fargo North is a treat to watch in transition. Most games you will see sophomore Jeremiah Sem Jeremiah Sem 6'3" | SG Fargo North | 2024 State #212 Nation ND living above the rim with a massive dunk, hitting multiple three’s per game, and picking off passes for a fast break score.

Michael Nhial Michael Nhial 6'7" | SF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2022 State ND (West Fargo Sheyenne) – 19.8ppg 10rpg

Almost no player in the EDC has been more valuable for their team this season than senior Michael Nhial Michael Nhial 6'7" | SF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2022 State ND . This kid is an aggressive offensive player who can shoot from beyond the arc and rattle the rim. He also puts his elite athleticism to use by soaring above his opponents to snatch missed shots. Going into the postseason the Sheyenne Mustangs will look toward Nhial to help lead them to the promise land.

Conner Kraft Conner Kraft 6'8" | PF Shanley | 2023 State ND (Fargo Shanley) – 17.4ppg 8.1rpg 1.4bpg FG Per. 50%

Junior Conner Kraft Conner Kraft 6'8" | PF Shanley | 2023 State ND is a Division 1 prospect for a reason. This kid can score the ball from inside and out, rebound on both ends of the floor, and send shots back in the paint. Not to mention that he moves like a guard, has skills that are rare for someone of his size, and shoots the ball at a high rate.

Western Dakota Association (These Stats were taken from the WDA website and may not be fully up to date)

Treysen Eaglestaff Treysen Eaglestaff 6'5" | SF Bismarck | 2022 State ND (Bismarck High) – 30.3ppg 8.6rpg 4.8apg 2.6spg 2.3bpg 3FG Per. 37.5%

At the beginning of this season people expected UND commit Treysen Eaglestaff Treysen Eaglestaff 6'5" | SF Bismarck | 2022 State ND to lead the state in scoring, and he is doing just that. The Demon is an efficient scorer from both the 2 & 3, can rebound the ball at a high clip, finds open teammates for good looks, can swipe the ball from his opponent, and sends shots back on the regular. To put that in more simple terms, Eaglestaff is an all around phenomenal player who will surely put on a show in the playoffs.

Isaiah Schafer Isaiah Schafer 6'1" | CG Bismarck Century | 2024 State #246 Nation ND (Bismarck Century) – 18.1ppg 2.6apg 1.6spg 3FG Per. 47.8%

Sophomore Isaiah Schafer Isaiah Schafer 6'1" | CG Bismarck Century | 2024 State #246 Nation ND for the Century Patriots has been an absolute sniper this season. Currently sitting at a three point percentage of 47.8%, this would put Schafer in an elite category of shooters in the state. Not to mention that in only 17 games played Isaiah has made 66 shots from beyond the arc. If this continues, expect the Patriots to be a dangerous team come playoff time.

Alex Dvorak Alex Dvorak 6'1" | PG Dickinson | 2023 State ND (Dickinson) – 24.2ppg 2.1spg 2FG Per. 55.3% 3FG Per. 41.6%

Leading the way for the Dickinson Midgets this season has been Alex Dvorak Alex Dvorak 6'1" | PG Dickinson | 2023 State ND . The junior has been scoring at an all around great rate, nosey on the defensive end, and confident from behind the arc. With the regular season nearing its end Alex will be a crucial piece in the playoff success of this Dickinson team.
