On Saturday February 5, PH ventured out to Stockton California for the Super Saturday Event at Venture Academy. There were six games on hand with most of the teams from the Stockton area, a part of NorCal. Here’s our list of the outstanding player on the winning team of each game.

Game 1: Cosumnes Oaks 74, Cornerstone 29

Brandon Hayward 6’4 2022 G/W of Cosumnes Oaks.

Hayward a long armed wing with good athleticism, and movements on the court. He’s a court runner, and a slasher. He was successful finishing at the rim. He has decent handles, and can push after rebounding. He had some success getting by defenders on the wings, and perimeter to create his shot or kick it out. He had 18pts.

Game 2: Mountain House 56, Stagg 46.

Isaiah Chenier 6’1 2023 PG of Mountain House.

At 6’1 Chenier has good court awareness, arm length, and live hands to generate deflections and steals that he converted into points. He runs the court well using long strides that gets him into the paint for finishing opportunities. He has a floater and a paint jumper. His vision and handles are good, he’s a willing passer. 12pts.

Game 3: Tracy 70, Lathrop 62.

Logan Hock 5’10 2022 G of Tracy.

Hock was the hottest shooter in the gym. He started early knocking down corner 3’s, he had 3 in the 1st quarter, his hot shooting continued with three more catch 3’s in the corner during the second quarter. After some halftime adjustments. He moved from the corners to the wing for three more 3’s to end the third quarter. He hit another 3 at the top in the 4th quarter. He made 10 3-Ptrs and finished with 37pts.

Game 4: Sacramento 72, Monterey Trail 59.

Mike Wilson 6’2 2023 SG of Sacramento

Wilson started slow in the scoring department. He didn’t let that effect his play too much. He played solid defense, and at 6’2 or 3 he was the top rebounder in this game with 9. His scoring ticked up using the baseline for strong takes to the rim, and short corner jumpers. In the second half he hit four three’s, two long one's came down the stretch to seal the deal. 24pts 9rebs.

Game 5: St. Patrick-St. Vincent 80, Venture Academy 58.

[player_tooltip player_id="1253694" first="Nick" last="Medeiros"] 5’10 2022 PG of St. Patrick-St. Vincent.

Medeiros is one of the better PG’s under 6’0 in NorCal. He’s as tough as they come. He has a good understanding of what his responsibilities are on the court. He makes his teammates better. His decision making, vision, passing, and ability to create his shot can’t go unnoticed. He has the speed, and quickness to effect the game on both ends and in transition. 19pts

Game 6: Campolindo 56, Lincoln of Stockton 54.

[player_tooltip player_id="766840" first="Aidan" last="Mahaney"] 6’3 2022 G of Campolindo.

There isn’t too many other ways to describe what Mahaney has done in his 4 season of playing basketball in NorCal. The St. Mary’s commit has been Mr. Consistency when he’s on the court. It’s not just about scoring for him, it’s about playing the game at a high level, using his skills for what ever the moment in the game dictates. 20pts
