Regional Semifinals Preview: 2A South Florida

<p>The regional semifinals across all classes are set to begin tomorrow night across Florida. In this article, I will take a look at the four South Florida matchups in Class 2A Region 4.</p> <p>No. 1 seed Sagemont vs No.4 seed Lake Worth Christian</p> <p>Sagemont is a tough team led by 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1161407" first="Adrian" last="Cruz"]. The 6-foot-3 guard is averaging 19.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 51 percent from the field. Moreover, Cruz has shot 40 percent (47-of-118) from deep. In addition to him, Sagemont has five players with 25 or more 3-pointers. 6-foot-7 guard [player_tooltip player_id="962452" first="Tynan" last="Becker"] has knocked down 48 from the perimeter while averaging 11.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. 6-foot-9 [player_tooltip player_id="1065488" first="Nedas" last="Zukauskas"] (8.4 ppg) can also spread the floor. Guards Cameron Gibson and [player_tooltip player_id="963317" first="Ashton" last="Smith"] can dribble penetrate or dish in motion. Overall, Sagemont might have a bit of a size advantage on the wing. Lake Worth Christian has a solid blend of talent across all classes. 2025 Landen Harwood (13 ppg) and 2022 Gabriel Santos (12.3 ppg) are two top scorers. Santos is also averaging a team-best 7.2 rebounds per game. 2023 Hunter Lucia is not shy from three with 68 3-pointers made on 177 attempts.</p> <p>No. 3 seed True North Classical Academy vs No. 7 seed Miami Christian</p> <p>The Titans are playing pretty good basketball under a four-game winning streak. In addition, True North Classical Academy owns two previous wins over Miami Christian this season. Limiting 2026 Jasien Lopez and his 30 points per game will likely be a factor. The 5-foot-10 guard went for 25 points, ten rebounds and six assists against Sheridan Hills Christian on Thursday. Lopez and 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1055737" first="Ryan" last="Rodriguez"] have made over 70 3-pointers. 2026 Boosie Swan is averaging over 18 points and four rebounds per game. Clearly, the Titans have some good young players. Miami Christian got a big win over No. 2 seed Morningside Academy in round one. 2022 Martin Garza might be flying under the radar with his 23.2 points and 5.4 boards per game. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard had 25 points and made five 3-pointers against Morningside Academy. Garza has eclipsed 20 or more points in 20 games this season. 2022 Sadiq Abdullahi is a capable double-double (8.1 ppg/9.5 rpg).
