Here’s the updated rankings of new prospects in the class of 2023. Because of the restriction on basketball in NorCal many of these players could not be evaluated properly by PH. With restrictions lifted we’ve expanded our list of ranked prospects. There’s been lots of movement up and down. PH makes every effort to see as many NorCal prospects as we can.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380762" first="Andrew" last="McKeever"] 6’11 PF/C of Granada.

He’s one of only a few in this class of 2023 standing 6’11. He has good fundamentals, he’s long with decent movement in the paint. He can effect the game on both ends with his length. He scores on put backs, paint jumpers, and a jump hook. He’s an excellent passer and screener from the high post. He’ll rebound with good outlets to start the transition break. He’s a rising player in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380756" first="Jalen" last="Glenn"] 6’5 G/W of Inderkum

Glenn shows good athleticism, he’s a court runner looking to score in transition, converting in different ways with good balance, and body control. He can finish above the rim, use a pull up jumper, or knock down a 3ptr in transition. He’s a threat to score on the perimeter with catch 3’s, dribble drives into the paint, and other ways. He has the length and foot speed to be a quality defender.

Shane O’reilly 6’3 SG of Campolindo.

O’reilly one of the better 3pt shooters in this class. He has good form, a quick release with little hesitation when he spots up in the corner or on the perimeter. He can hit 3’s in transition, coming off screens. He moves and cuts well without the ball. He’s a good court runner and can finish going towards the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380759" first="Elijah" last="Mobley"] 6’1 G, of Weston Ranch

Mobley excels in a face paced game. He’s got the conditioning and footspeed to be effective on both ends of the court. He can create his own shot, and involve others with his passing. He’ll defend all out in the open court using his quick hands and arm length to get deflections and turnovers. He’s a good rebounding guard. He averaged 24.4pts, and 6.7rebs this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380769" first="Connor" last="Sevilla"] 5’10 G of Dougherty Valley

Sevilla, and ([player_tooltip player_id="950790" first="Ryan" last="Beasley"], 29.8pts) both 2023 prospects proved themselves to be the most productive backcourt duo in the 2023 NorCal class. The 2023 guard averages 17.4pts per game. He plays under control rarely does he take bad shots, yet has the speed and quickness to generate points. He has an efficient 3pt shot in transition which draws defenders and opens lanes for him to get floaters and shots in the paint.

Khistian Holmes 6’0 G of Weston Ranch

Holmes a thick tough minded guard who doesn’t mind the physical contact. He is determined to get to the basket contact or not. He’ll finish high off the glass and often draws fouls. He can run the offense up top, find open shooters on the kick out, and defend hard in the open court. He’s good in transition. 16.2pts, 7.7rebs, 5.1apg.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380758" first="Elliot" last="Mobley"] 6’1 G of Weston Ranch

He and his twin brother Elijah are similar in style of play both are fast and athletic, both excel in a fast paced game. Elliot averaged 13.6pts, 4.5rebs, 4.8apg, and 2.7spg. He’s aggressive on the defensive side of the ball, at 6’1 he’ll challenge anyone going up a for a layup. He has good defensive instincts, roaming and looking to pick off long passes. He’s a good rebounding guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380805" first="Mike" last="Wilson"] 6’2 SG of Sacramento

Wilson has good upside to his game if he continues to put in the work. A tough minded scoring guard who can hit the 3pt shot when he gets into the flow of the game. He has the strength and toughness to defend multiple positions. At 6’3 he’s a good rebounder who can push and pass in transition. He has to stay focused.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380764" first="Jalen" last="Newhouse"] 6’1 G, of El Camino

Newhouse came into his own this season, getting the opportunity to handle the ball and play on the perimeter, where he could show more of his guard skills. With his improved handles, he had strong takes going to the basket, and finishing through contact. He’s a good rebounding guard who can push and pass in transition making good reads, and decisions. 10pts, 5rebs. We’ll keep an eye on him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380763" first="Mwandishi" last="Adams"] 6’5 PF of Edison, Stockton.

Adams is an improving prospect, who’s just starting to realize the effect he can have on a game. He’s a strong body that can be a force in and around the post area with further development. He has strong takes from the baseline looking to finish with dunks at times. He has the body, and strength to be a good post defender, and rebounder. 7.2pts, 6.2rebs.
