With the conference tournament portion of the season approaching, we take a look at the 3rd edition of the 2A West Favorites in the NCHSAA.

R-S Central (21-2)

R-S Central High rides an 11-game winning streak after going unbeaten in conference action with a talented rotation. They’ll close their schedule out tonight against Chase High. [player_tooltip player_id="1342386" first="Tyrese" last="Miller"] is an unsigned senior name to know that can score it and rebound in bunches. [player_tooltip player_id="1164550" first="Zymicah" last="Wilkins"] is a young freshman prospect to watch that’s putting up solid numbers. They’re a well-rounded group with potential in this year’s state playoffs field.

Hendersonville (21-2)

Hendersonville High has lost just one game in their last 14 meetings and that’s to conference foe R-S Central in overtime this past season. They could meet a few more times before it’s all said and done as they’re a top squad in their same conference. [player_tooltip player_id="945080" first="Dwight" last="Canady"] and [player_tooltip player_id="951365" first="Keenan" last="Wilkins"] are one of the top backcourt duos in 2A and they’ll be ready when these two teams square off again in the conference tournament.

Lincoln Charter (19-4)

Lincoln Charter is on the rise thanks to their backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id="1008884" first="JJ" last="Moore"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1029276" first="Marcus" last="Farley Jr"]. Elijah Burnett and Xavier Crawford are also two 2023 prospects to know with this group as they went 10-0 in conference play and have won 12 straight games with the conference tournament around the corner. They’ll be a favorite to make it to the state finals once again.

Robinson (19-3)

Robinson High has won four games in a row after dropping a 1-point loss to Harding University High back on Jan. 27. They’ll close out their regular season schedule on Friday night against a solid Mount Pleasant squad. [player_tooltip player_id="1360301" first="Daevin" last="Hobbs"] has been a star on the gridiron and the football field for Robinson as he’s posted 14.9 ppg. Unsigned senior Jaylan Jackson is another name to watch with his ability to score the ball.

Salisbury (15-4)

Salisbury High took their first loss since Dec. 3 this past Wednesday against Thomasville which should prepare them for the road ahead. They’ll close out their regular season against another top squad in West Rowan tonight. 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1126297" first="Jayden" last="Harris"] and senior wing Cam Stout are a few names to keep an eye on with this group, as they’re a scrappy group that gets after it on both ends.
