On Saturday PH took a drive to Modesto, CA to see a game featuring two teams ranked in the top 5 of NorCal. Inderkum from Sacramento 24-1, traveled to Modesto Christian 22-5 for a nonleague matchup between two teams expected to make deep runs into the sectional playoffs starting next week. Here’s our observations from the game. Inderkum won 82-74.

Both teams were missing two starters in the game. Inderkum was without it’s leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="1266054" first="Derrick" last="Claxton"] a 6’5 2022 Guard who’s averaging 21.9 pts per game with multiple D1 offers and [player_tooltip player_id="966273" first="Anthony" last="Williams"] a 6’9 Center who has D1 potential and post presence on defense. Modesto Christian was down two starters. [player_tooltip player_id="1253094" first="BJ" last="Davis"] 6’1 2023 Guard, 17 pts per game, and [player_tooltip player_id="1256520" first="Ty" last="Virgil"] 6’4 2024 W/G, 10.5 per game. Both players have D1 offers.

Inderkum likes to play a uptempo style of basketball pressing and trapping in both full and half court. On any given game they may go deep into the bench using 10-12 players. There’s a couple players on the bench who have the speed and quickness to trap and defend all out for their time on the court. They stay ready, this team averages over 80pts a game, have hit the century mark 4 times this season.

Inderkum 24-1 has 4 or more prospects who are next level players, we saw two of them have outstanding performances in this game. [player_tooltip player_id="1380756" first="Jalen" last="Glenn"] 6’5 2023 Guard was the games top point producer with 32pts. His performance in this game makes him a must see player for college coaches in the spring and summer. [player_tooltip player_id="950919" first="Jermaine" last="Haliburton"] 6’2 2023 Guard should also be a must see for college coaches. He was equally as impressive dropping 30pts. The two combined for 62 of Inderkums 82 points.

Modesto Christian 22-5. [player_tooltip player_id="1119247" first="Jamari" last="Phillips"] 6’3 2024 Guard one of the top ranked prospects nationally in the 2024 class did all he could do in this game, (20pts at the half) before fouling out with 29pts, and 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. He was just getting into takeover mode before fouling out.

Modesto Christian has it’s own talented young underclassmen who tried to carry the load after Phillips early departure. [player_tooltip player_id="1384446" first="Isaiah" last="Davis"] 6’3 2025 Guard who was inserted into the starting line up made his first five shots all 3ptrs. He knocked down open shots while Phillips was being face guarded and double teamed through 3 qtrs, and [player_tooltip player_id="1253158" first="Prince" last="Oseya"] 6’10 2023 Center isn’t yet scoring a lot of points right now, but did make his presence known throughout this contest as he challenged players coming into the post area, he had at least 4 blocks and 10 rebounds. They call Davis (Zeke) This was a coming out party for those that don’t know Zeke the young 2025 prospect. Five 3’s and 17pts.
