<p>In this article I discuss and go in-depth on the top three teams in the Eastern Dakota Conference. </p>
<p>West Fargo Sheyenne Mustangs 12-1 (11-1 EDC)</p>
<p>Many people may not have expected the Sheyenne Mustangs to be atop the EDC at this point in the season, but that didn’t stop them. Sitting at a 12-1 overall record, the Orange and Blue have been firing on all cylinders. With notable wins over West Fargo and Davies this team has proven that they can beat anyone in the East. As a defensive juggernaut, the Mustangs are number one in points allowed at 58.69/game, opposing team field goal percentage at 35.42%, and opponents three point percentage that sits at 26.45%. As far as defensive players are concerned [player_tooltip player_id="1133064" first="Kaleb" last="Larson"] averages 2.3 steals/game, [player_tooltip player_id="1133065" first="James" last="Hagen"] snatches 2.2, and [player_tooltip player_id="812221" first="Dominic" last="Dosmann"] blocks 1.5 shots every contest. On offense the Stangs are led by [player_tooltip player_id="1046354" first="Michael" last="Nhial"]’s averages of 20.5 points and 10.7 rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id="1133064" first="Kaleb" last="Larson"] who puts up 14.3 points, and [player_tooltip player_id="1133065" first="James" last="Hagen"]’s 2.2 dimes per game. Other notable contributors to Sheyenne are [player_tooltip player_id="812234" first="Trent" last="Freih"], [player_tooltip player_id="1133224" first="Zander" last="Newton"], Kellen Entz, [player_tooltip player_id="1273975" first="Derrick" last="Lobbo"], [player_tooltip player_id="1306390" first="Caleb" last="Duerr"], and Matt Gooselaw. </p>
<p>Fargo Davies 12-1 (11-1 EDC)</p>
<p>Joining Sheyenne at the top of the Eastern Dakota Conference is the extremely talented Davies Eagles. Sitting at a 12-1 overall record, the Eagles have good wins over West Fargo and Grand Forks Red River. So far this season, Davies has been lethal on offense leading the EDC in scoring at 87.85 points/game, scoring margin per contest at 25.77, and they are shooting an impressive 49.55% from the field. Not to mention that they are also second in three point percentage at 34.02%. On defense the Eagles are second in points against per game at 62.08, second in opposing team field goal percentage at 37.12%, and first in steals per contest with 15.69. Individual wise [player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] is averaging 25.1 points and 3.5 steals, [player_tooltip player_id="812229" first="Ian" last="Motschenbacher"] has 18.5 points and 3.6 assists, and [player_tooltip player_id="1050247" first="Raymond" last="Brown"] is putting up 12.2 points and 43.4% from beyond the arc per game. Other notable players include [player_tooltip player_id="1161486" first="Alex" last="Proctor"], [player_tooltip player_id="1161524" first="Daniel" last="Yorke"], Carson Barta, [player_tooltip player_id="1167651" first="Max" last="Froslie"], [player_tooltip player_id="1273987" first="Evan" last="Van Dam"], and Kaden Braaflat. </p>
<p>West Fargo Packers 10-3 (9-3 EDC)</p>
<p>Coming in at third in the EDC is the defending state champion West Fargo Packers. With good wins over West Fargo Sheyenne and Fargo Shanley, the Pack are sitting at a 10-3 overall record. As a team West Fargo is second in scoring offense at 80.69 points, third in field goal percentage with 43.98%, and third in three point makes hitting 7.77 per game. On defense they are second in steals (15) and turnover margin (5.9) per game. Players who have had a big impact for the Packers so far this season include [player_tooltip player_id="1161460" first="Nick" last="Carlson"]’s 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, [player_tooltip player_id="812219" first="Carson" last="Hegerle"] at 15.4 points and 3 steals, [player_tooltip player_id="812231" first="Brett" last="Limke"] who sits with 14.3 points, and Foday Sheriff who scores 13.5 points per game. Other guys that have been key are [player_tooltip player_id="1046355" first="Parker" last="Nelson"] and Caden Zepeda. </p>
