D2 Southeast District Previews

<p>Tournament coverage continues with previews of the brackets in Southeast Ohio. First we look at Division II which is slpit into 2 brackets that go into Region 7.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Southeast 1</span></p> <p>Top Teams: Waverly, Logan Elm, Fairfield Union</p> <p>Sleeper: Jackson- The Ironmen were dealing with injuries early in the season and took some losses maybe they could have avoided. Having seniors like <strong>Drew Bragg</strong> and <strong>Evan Spires</strong> can give the Ironmen a chance of getting a W in the tournament. I like their chances against Fairfield Union especially as Jackson has won 4 of their last 6 entering the tournament.</p> <p>District Final: Waverly over Logan Elm- The Tigers have been the best team in Southeast Ohio in Division II all season and I don’t see them losing before the District Final. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="967167" first="Trey" last="Robertson"]</strong> has worked too hard in his career to fall short from a Regional appearance. The Braves have a solid player themselves in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1357789" first="Tanner" last="Holbert"]</strong>, but Logan Elm has struggled against some of the better teams in the District this season and beating THE team in Southeast Ohio is a tall task.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Southeast 2</span></p> <p>Top Teams: McClain, Gallia Academy, Sheridan</p> <p>Sleeper: Sheridan- Unless you are from Thornsville, you probably aren’t picking the Generals to make too deep of a run this postseason. They’ve lost to some of the better teams in the Region, but they’ve won plenty of games convincingly. This half of the bracket gives them matchups with some teams they haven’t seen. I’ve seen what senior <strong>Kaelan Pulliam</strong> is capable of doing and this Sheridan team may be playing some of their best basketball right now winning their last 6 games.</p> <p>District Final: Sheridan over McClain- I’m taking the Generals to pull the upset against a senior heavy McClain team. I feel Sheridan’s schedule and past of being a contender out of Southeast Ohio can get them past Gallia Academy and then against McClain. <strong>Bryson Badgley</strong> will put up a fight for the Tigers but I feel they will fall short in this District Final.</p>
