Below is a preview of five southeastern Pennsylvania games we are looking forward to watching the week of February 6th, 2022.

Mon., Feb. 7th…Great Valley at Phoenixville: A rare, late season non-conference matchup features two squads that are having solid league seasons. Both of these rosters are stacked with college prospects. Great Valley (15-4; 7-1) is paced by freshman phenom Cameron Wallace and senior Connor Gal. Wallace can get buckets at all three levels and is averaging 24 ppg. Gal is a fantastic scoring guard who owns a lethal jumper. Phoenixville’s (8-8; 6-2 in PAC) [player_tooltip player_id="1275989" first="Zavier" last="Mayo"] (15 ppg.) is a PAC Player of the Year candidate. 6’6”, double-double machine [player_tooltip player_id="1275990" first="Gabe" last="Massenburg"] (11.7 ppg.) is attracting attention from numerous college programs.

Tue., Feb. 8th…George School vs. Westtown School: The final contest of the Friends School League regular season schedule will decide who gets the No. 1 seed for the league playoffs. For the George School (5-1 in FSL action), highly recruited power forward [player_tooltip player_id="1119114" first="Onyekachi" last="Nzeh"] has recently posted games of 35 points and 26 points. Nzeh will get a great deal of help from scoring point guard [player_tooltip player_id="1285466" first="Christian" last="Bliss"] (4/5 DI offers) and shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id="901991" first="Dante" last="Weise"]. Westtown (7-0 in FSL action) has been riding the red-hot duo of Duke commit [player_tooltip player_id="991185" first="Dereck" last="Lively II"] and combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="1379563" first="Quin" last="Berger"] (2022). Lively recently posted a double-double of 30 points and 25 rebounds. A tremendous January has made Berger the fastest rising 2022 prospect in the state. Elite point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991188" first="Jameel" last="Brown"] (Penn State commit) and sophomore phenom Seyphon Triplett (Holds several DI offers.) our two other ‘Town players to watch.

Tue., Feb. 8th…Haverford at Lower Merion: This Central League game will pit first place Lower Merion (18-2; 14-1) against third place Haverford (15-4; 11-3). Penn State commit [player_tooltip player_id="991216" first="Demetrius" last="Lilley"] (6’9”; Center) has been an interior beast for Lower Merion all season. Lilley can also sprinkle in a couple of threes per game. After missing seven games because of an ankle injury, LM’s wicked scoring guard [player_tooltip player_id="991391" first="Sam" last="Brown"] (three DI offers) has returned and looks as good as ever. Haverford’s smooth shooting backcourt duo of [player_tooltip player_id="1379477" first="Nick" last="Colucci"] (13 ppg.) and Alex Seidman will lead the Fords upset bid. Both players knock home triples at a high percentage. Keep an eye on Haverford shooting guard JR Newman, who is an under the radar 2022 prospect.

Tue., Feb. 8th…West Catholic at Imhotep Charter: This contest was added to the schedule over the weekend and hoop heads should rejoice. West Catholic (10-1 in PCL action) is the first-place team in the Philly Catholic League and Imhotep (Philly Public League) is one of the best squads in the state. West Catholic features elite, 6’5” wing [player_tooltip player_id="1121734" first="Zion" last="Stanford"] (13.9 ppg.), junior scoring guard Shemar Wilbanks-Acqui and point guard Adam “Budd” Clark (11 ppg. & 5 apg.). Clark is one of the quickest point men in Pennsylvania. As you know by now, Imhotep’s roster is bursting with major DI college prospects. [player_tooltip player_id="991341" first="Justin" last="Edwards"] (No. 1 ranked 2023 in PA; numerous DI offers), [player_tooltip player_id="991339" first="Rahmir" last="Barno"] (No. 2 ranked 2023 in PA), [player_tooltip player_id="1281786" first="Ahmad" last="Nowell"] (No. 2 ranked 2024 in PA) and [player_tooltip player_id="1121757" first="Ronny" last="Raphael"] (Committed to Gannon) provide outstanding guard play. While [player_tooltip player_id="1287322" first="Mo" last="Abdullah"] (Committed to Rider) provides a versatile interior presence.

Fri., Feb 11th…West Catholic at Archbishop Wood: There is no letup in West Catholic’s schedule. After taking on nationally ranked Imhotep, WC faces a deep and talented Archbishop Wood squad (8-1 in PCL). Wood’s fast paced offense is pushed by impressive combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="991202" first="Justin" last="Moore"] (16 ppg.; Drexel commit). Class of 2024 prospect [player_tooltip player_id="1189096" first="Jalil" last="Bethea"] (6’3”; 12.6 ppg.) is turning in a tremendous sophomore campaign. Bethea can score at all 3 levels but is especially deadly from especially from behind the arc. Junior power forward [player_tooltip player_id="1013075" first="Carson" last="Howard"] (9 pts & 8 rebs per game) is a solid prospect who scores at will in the paint and owns an extremely effective mid-range jumper.
