It was a packed house over at Calvary Christian Academy for the Eagles and North Broward Prep. Calvary Christian Academy would defeat the Eagles 53-41 and advance to the 4A regional final.

Standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id="709215" first="Marvel" last="Allen"] - Calvary Christian Academy

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709215" first="Marvel" last="Allen"] scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half. The 6-foot-4 combo guard hit three 3-pointers over the first sixteen minutes of play. Allen’s shooting combined with his compact size to attack the basket was effective tonight. He is committed to LSU.

[player_tooltip player_id="829386" first="Brenen" last="Lorient"] - Calvary Christian Academy

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829386" first="Brenen" last="Lorient"] did a nice job on defense for the Eagles. I thought his movement and length made 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1060261" first="Guilherme" last="Tesch"] work for his opportunities. The 6-foot-8 forward scored six points around the rim. His bounce, along with 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="712107" first="Taylor" last="Hendricks"], was effective off lob passes at the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1065431" first="Michael" last="Kalina"] - North Broward Prep

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1065431" first="Michael" last="Kalina"] scored 14 of North Broward Prep’s 41 points. The 6-foot-1 guard did a fantastic job driving to the rim and finishing. Kalina was able to dribble penetrate and shield his body while tossing up tough shots at the basket. Moreover, his recognition to find the bucket was impressive. Kalina’s ambidextrous ability with the basketball in his hands was superb considering he was driving into a tough defensive frontcourt. I also thought he dished some nice passes to [player_tooltip player_id="1060261" first="Guilherme" last="Tesch"] and 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955571" first="Adren" last="Roberts"].

[player_tooltip player_id="814895" first="Gregg" last="Glenn"] - Calvary Christian Academy

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="814895" first="Gregg" last="Glenn"] scored 11 points for the Eagles. The 6-foot-7 forward did a nice job scoring from all three levels. Glenn hit a 3-pointer and used his athleticism to score driving down the lane. Glenn also used his size for spin around bucket in the paint. He is committed to Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id="1060261" first="Guilherme" last="Tesch"] - North Broward Prep

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1060261" first="Guilherme" last="Tesch"] battled before leaving in the third quarter with what looked like a hand injury. The 6-foot-8 wing scored a few tough buckets off the dribble while using his body. In addition, Tesch made a nice pass to 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="712115" first="Justin" last="Abson"] off one of his drives. He finished with seven points. Tesch has multi-level scoring ability that should only improve this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="955571" first="Adren" last="Roberts"] - North Broward Prep

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955571" first="Adren" last="Roberts"] played a well-rounded game for North Broward Prep. The 6-foot-5 forward finished with eight points and even took a charge. One of Roberts’ buckets was a flush right down the lane. His movement and bounce off the dribble is a nice asset in his game.

Quick hits:

[player_tooltip player_id="1065427" first="Tyler" last="Hendricks"] - Six points on two 3-pointers

[player_tooltip player_id="712115" first="Justin" last="Abson"] - Nine points and three blocks
