It was a difficult situation in the past having limited opportunities to see some good prospects in the Northern California Region. There were many players we just didn’t get the opportunity to see. Here’s a list of prospects who probably would have been ranked if it weren’t for the shut down of hoops in the region. Here’s a look at some new prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id="1377271" first="Matt" last="Hoffman"] 6’3 SG of Rio americano.

Hoffman has been a steady player for a while now. He’s averaging 16.6, and 4.3rebs a game. He has a good set of guard skills, and has good feel for the game. He has good strength, and plays on balance. He can play on the aggressive side when he makes up his mind to go get a bucket. He’s a shot maker. He’ll attend Lewis and Clark. #19

[player_tooltip player_id="1376452" first="Kevin" last="Gad"] 6’6 G, of Granada

Gad has been operating under our radar until not long ago. He’s big guard who can run an offense, make long passes up court, and has good vision when spraying the ball around in half court. Gad can be an effective 3pt shooter as well. He understands when to look for his shot. He can get hot from 3. #22.

[player_tooltip player_id="1380676" first="Aaron" last="Bliss"] 6’10 PF of Ponderosa

Bliss has put himself on the radar of college coaches leading this Ponderosa team to a 27-0, 12-0 record this season heading into the playoffs. They are one of a few teams in NorCal to go undefeated. He’s long, and active in and around the basket getting his points, and going after rebounds, and blocks. He’s a good floor runner, he can drive it from the perimeter on occasion. He’s in the double-double club with 15.4pts, 13.6rebs and 4.7blks per game. He’s rising #26.

[player_tooltip player_id="1376406" first="Tyler" last="Dutto"] 6’4 G, of Miramonte

A quality big guard with a good set of skills, he’s patient and confident when running the teams offense in half-court sets. He has the handles and body strength to get into the paint with balance and play off two feet. He has a good paint jumper. He can play-off ball and have more scoring opportunities to us his mid-range jumper. 10.5pts, 6.4asts, 5.1rebs, 3.1stls. #29.

[player_tooltip player_id="1376407" first="Alex" last="Martin"] 6’5 W/SG of Washington HS, Fremont, CA.

Washington is an athletic player who can score the ball in many different ways, he has the strength and handles to beat his man off the dribble, and finish strong above the rim. He can post up and jump over you. He can handle the ball in open court and has a solid jump shot with good lift. He can rebound, and defend multiple positions. #31

[player_tooltip player_id="1376421" first="John" last="Flannigan"] 6’8 PF of De La Salle.

Flannigan has been a key player for the Spartans anchoring the middle. He brings a good set of fundamentals along with some finesse. He’s long with decent foot work inside, and an improving shot from the 3pt line. He does a good job of running the court at 6’8. He’s a quality passer and screener working on the perimeter and at the high post. He has a jump hook, and a paint jumper. #34

[player_tooltip player_id="1376413" first="Caden" last="Breznikar"] 6’5 G of Miramonte

Breznikar has been a key player on a team with a record of 22-4, 9-3. He’s a good size guard that looks to shoot his jumper behind the 3ptline when he’s open. He can handle well enough to get to spots he likes to shoot from. He has a good jumper in the paint, and has some strength to handle contact finishing at the rim. He can handle and pass in the open court. 12.9pts, 8.5rebs, 3.6apg. #45

[player_tooltip player_id="1376414" first="Devon" last="Carson"] 6’2 G, of Deer Valley

Carson has been a high scoring guard, who can score in different ways because of his speed and quickness with the ball. He has the shifty handles, and a quick first step to get defenders off balance from the point of attack. He’s tough to deal with in the open court, not knowing if he’ll pull up or use a shifty move to go by you. He has the range to knock down deep 3’s. 23.6 pts per game. #50

[player_tooltip player_id="1329592" first="Troy" last="Crighton"] 5’10 CG of, Sheldon

Crighton just plays a consistent floor game, he doesn’t make many mistakes on the court. He goes to the basket with good speed sometimes getting defenders off balance with an off hand finish. He has a way of finishing his shots in transition. He plays at a good pace, he makes good decisions with the ball. He has a quality jump shot. 11.5 pts a game. #59

[player_tooltip player_id="1377185" first="Kevin" last="Carney"] 5’9 SG of, Sacred Heart Prep.

Carney can flat out shoot the ball when he gets into a rhythm. We witnessed him getting hot in the 1st quarter of a game. He made five 3’s. He’s a confident shooter with a good form and can knock it down from all the right spots with deep range sometimes. He’s quick and looks to get his shots up and coming off screens. 10pts a game. #60
