Yellow Jacket Christmas Classic Final Notes
<p>Union Pines Senior Guard <b>Tyson Hise</b>: Understands his role as a shooter on their squad, does a nice job of moving without the ball and being ready to shoot prior to getting the ball. Gets good arch on his shot and has a pretty quick release.</p>
<p>Union Pines Junior Guard <b>Brandyn Hackett</b>: A smaller Guard with good speed that’s gets after it on both ends of the floor. He handled the different types of pressure he faced very well and did a nice job of getting his team into their offense.</p>
<p>Green Level Sophomore Forward <b>Trey Manhertz</b>: He’s young and raw at this point but he has some upside and will be one to keep an eye on. He blocked shots, pulled down some rebounds and displayed a soft touch in the paint.</p>
<p>SE Raleigh Junior Guard <b>Jordan Johnson</b>: When his team needed offensive production, he was the player that they looked to. Down the stretch of their first round matchup he came up with some timely baskets to help cut the lead but his team would eventually fall short after an impressive comeback.</p>
<p>Apex HS Senior Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="1006166" first="Patrick" last="Malott"]</b>: Put together a solid showing in their first round matchup, helping his team come back from a major deficit. He finished with double figure scoring but also made a nice impact on the defensive side of the ball, playing the passing lanes for steals and pitching the ball ahead for transition buckets.</p>
<p>Western Harnett Freshman Forward <b>Jaiden Odom</b>: This was his first varsity game of his career but we some flashes of what he can potentially be. He didn’t hesitate about mixing it up inside for rebounds and he ran the floor pretty well for a player his height. Be on the lookout for him to continue to progress over the next few months as he should see some more varsity action.</p>
