There’s a lot of basketball being played in NorCal with quality competition, and players at various events. This week Prep Hoops NorCal spent Tuesday at the Bambauer Classic day 2, at Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, CA. On Wednesday we were at Acalanes High School for day 2 of the Chris Huber Classic. Here’s our list of unsigned Seniors who played well while we were in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id="953989" first="Jordan" last="Aquino"] 5’9 PG 2022 of Lincoln (SF)

Aquino has always been tough to deal with when he’s locked in. He’s shown he can be a leader and a facilitator who involves teammates with pinpoint passing first before he opts to take over. His ability to score off the ball and in transition in various ways makes him one of the toughest guards in NorCal to handle one on one. The game we saw he had 18pts in a lopsided win.

[player_tooltip player_id="947390" first="Brycen" last="Shackelford"] 6’5 F/G 2022 of Folsom

This is the breakout season for Shackelford, he’s playing with consistency and is confident in how he goes about his business on the court. He’s improved in areas needed to move to the next level. A Stronger body, decent handle to get to his spots, and his outside perimeter game, fits well with his post area game. He had 18pts in the game we saw.

[player_tooltip player_id="1254027" first="Miles" last="Klapper"] 6’3 G 2022 of Junipero Serra

Klapper is a high energy type of player who’s in constant motion and makes plays on both ends of the court. He does good things with the ball. His decision making, and passing are good. He can knock down shots from mid-range and from 3, what we noticed most is how well he plays off two feet, he repeatedly made his way into the paint, then using the jump stop and pivot very effective. His 21pts led the team that night.

Caden Breznikar 6’5 G 2022 of Miramonte

The versatile Breznikar continues to be a key player for this team expected to challenge for a top spot come play-offs. He cuts and moves well without the ball. He can rebound and push the break, as well as spot up on the perimeter for jumpers and drives into the paint for key jumpers. He can defend on the perimeter. 12pts 5 rebounds.

Kai Purcell 6’6 G/F 2022 of Arcata

Our first look at Purcell. He’s a long armed good all around player who scores inside and out. He can get his own shot on the perimeter, and he shows decent footwork and toughness working for points and rebounds inside. He shot the 3 ball well, while working the board and defending the other teams big. He erupted for 26pts . He’s on the Wright’s Watch List.

Joaquim Aruz-Moore 6’0 PG 2022 of Branson

Aruz-Moore has done an excellent job of running this teams set plays. He’s an energetic player that’s showing good patience waiting for plays to develop. He sees the court well in transition, he can hit the mid-range jumper off the dribble. His on court leadership has helped this team win two early season tournaments. He was named MVP

[player_tooltip player_id="1254864" first="Sean" last="Quanico"] 5’10 G 2022 of Saint Ignatius

Quantico looks calm and confident on the court and plays at a good pace. He’s always looking to take advantage of others mistakes. He has quality handles and looks stronger and fit to handle contact on the drive to the basket. He looks for his shot on the perimeter. He’s a good on ball defender who’ll challenge ball handlers up the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="1113064" first="Rory" last="Kenneally"] 6’5 F 2022 of Saint Ignatius

Kenneally has improved his overall game. He’s a bit more versatile as he works well in transition looking for his shot from 3 or continuing on for a closer look. He’s using a jump hook in the post and attacks good along the baseline. He’ll go after rebounds and can defend on the perimeter.

Charlie Treene 6’7 W 2022 of Redwood

We’ve seen Treene before, he didn’t have his best working for him, but he showed some improved skills working on the wing at 6’7. He’s a long armed player that looks to shoot the 3, from well behind the line. He had some success putting it on the floor get the mid-range or jumper in the paint, where he can shoot over defenders. He did okay along the baseline as well. Making shots will be key for him.

Giancarlo Toledo 6’3 SG 2022 of Saint Ignatius

Toledo has the reputation as being a good 3-Pt shooter when left unguarded. He’s been working to add more tools to the box. He did put it on the floor using a jab step and floating it in once in the paint. His passing, and moving without the ball helps him find open spots for shots.
