Here are a few players that caught my eye from the Tarkanian Classic.

[player_tooltip player_id="758373" first="Andre" last="Young"] (Point Guard) 6’0 Pebblebrook- GA Watching Pebblebrook(GA) over the weekend [player_tooltip player_id="758373" first="Andre" last="Young"] really stood out to me. A little undersized at 6’0 Andre has no issue creating his own shot or finishing at the rim. A smooth and quick jumper can score well from the midrange and three. Solid defender who applies pressure and forces turnovers.

Gregory “GG” Jackson II (Guard) 6’9 Ridgeview- SC Watching warmups I could immediately tell that GG was an intriguing prospect to watch. At 6’9 he can play positions 1 through 5 on both sides of the ball. He is long and athletic and plays above the rim. A high motor and a high IQ with playmaking abilities, can create his own shot, and is a very selfless player.

[player_tooltip player_id="725171" first="Jacari" last="Lane"] (Guard) 5’10 Lee-AL Jacari is a strong point guard who plays way bigger than his size. He finishes well through contact and can handle the ball with pressure. Great basketball IQ always knows where his teammates should be and also holds everyone accountable.

[player_tooltip player_id="687647" first="Jordan" last="Brown"] (Guard) 6’2 Pebblebrook-GA Jordan is an all-around player who impressed me this weekend on both sides of the ball. At 6’2 he uses his athleticism to defend well and crash the glass to rebound and bang with bigger players. He plays well at all three levels and can create his own shot off of the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id="870158" first="Kami" last="Young"] (Guard) 6’2 Pebblebrook- GA When I first saw Kami during warmups he did not miss any shots. I knew immediately that he was a player that I needed to keep my eye on. The Rider signee hit over 15 3’s in the four games that I saw him play. Kami can also score on all three levels and is a very solid defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="781880" first="Lee" last="Dort"] (Forward) 6’10 Greenhill School- TX [player_tooltip player_id="781880" first="Lee" last="Dort"] caught my eye soon as we walked into the gym. He is a big strong forward who can defend and rim protect very well. He has good footwork and can move well around the basket. He has a soft touch at the rim but also will drop step and dunk with ease. A great communicator and high IQ on both sides of the ball He asserts his dominance on both sides of the ball. Also shoots free throws well.

[player_tooltip player_id="870173" first="Nyle" last="Hillmon"] (Guard) 6’2 Pebblebrook-GA Over the weekend Nyle was one of the best defenders that I saw. Can guard positions 1 through 4 and has the IQ to know how to make a player take tough or unwanted shots. Can guard off the ball just as good too. Runs the offense very well and can always find the open teammate.

Xavier Moultrie (Guard) 5’9 Ridgeview-SC When watching Ridgeview most of the attention goes to teammate Gregory Jackson. But Xavier is the point guard who runs the offense. He is a pass-first guard but if you give him an open lane to the basket or an open shot he will knock it down with ease. The fastest player that I saw this weekend, but also knows how to control the pace and slow it down when needed.
