Puma 1 of 1 Invitational Will bring Out The Stars

<p>Saturday, January 29th the first PUMA Invitational will take place at Phillip O Berry. We have both 1of1 teams playing, boys and girls against prospective opponents from North America. Below is a brief breakdown of the four matchups that will take place Saturday.</p> <p>The first matchup of the day will have the ladies of 1 on 1 will be led by <strong>Ella Hobbs</strong>, facing off against the Eagles of (blank). 6’3" Hobbs is the leader of this team and for good reason. She has a good pace, soft hands, and an amazing feel for the game. The second matchup will feature one of the two teams from Canada facing off against Winston Salem Christian. Canamera's <strong>Arden Begaj</strong> is a 6’11 sophomore that is ready to show America what he is capable of. His above-average dribbling ability makes him a tough guard for opponents his size. He has a very quick pump fake and release.</p> <p>His innate decision-making has made him a deadly three-point shooter. Amazed that so much of his game is outside-in. Players of his stature are usually restricted to the inside, his game flourishes when he can show his ability on the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id="982145" first="Lewis" last="Walker"] and the Lions will have their hands full, but they will be up for the challenge. Walker had a dominant 40 point performance in a 21 point win over FPA Basketball last night. The Lions seem to be hitting their stride at the perfect time with a big matchup on the horizon.</p> <p>Third Matchup will feature the high scoring duo of [player_tooltip player_id="863928" first="Orlando" last="Lovejoy"] and Braxton Jumper representing 1of1, facing off against Jordan Butler and the Christ Church Cavaliers from Greenville, South Carolina. Butler is a 6’10 sophomore with amazing two-way ability. Butler is one of the best shot blockers in the state of South Carolina. He has good patience and has good instincts, with his length and size, he has game-altering ability. Lovejoy is a great downhill scorer, this game will be a little different with Butler in the interior. I think the shooting of 1of1 will be the difference in this game. A big game for both teams as they ramp up for playoffs.</p> <p>The Marquee Matchup rounds out the exciting Saturday, with [player_tooltip player_id="1069091" first="Mikey" last="Williams"] and Vertical Academy taking on Ontario’s Royal Crown. The Crown will be led by athletic big Christian Nitu, an amazing post player that excels when he is also defending at a high level. It will be exciting to see Nitu and [player_tooltip player_id="1032849" first="Khouri" last="Carvey"] of Vertical square off in a match-up that may not be the most exciting but the most effective. Rebounding and defending these guards on both teams that love to attack the rim constantly.</p> <p>Day two was added last night, with two matchups that will have some competitive fire on Sunday! CanAmera will take on 1of1 at 10 in the morning at Phillip O Berry. Finishing off Sunday with Ontario's Royal Crown vs Moravian Prep. </p>
